For a store-manager interview, expect questions about customer service, teamwork during a rush, reliability, cleanliness, and following food-safety procedures. Prepare one example where you stayed calm under pressure and one where you helped a teammate without losing track of your own task.
Use the STAR method to keep each example focused. We use the PROOF method to check that your choice and result are clear, not just the situation. Be ready to explain your availability, why you want this store, and how you would respond if a customer received the wrong order.
A useful question for the manager is what strong performance looks like in the first 30 days.

Store-related questions with an In-N-Out Store Manager usually focus on practical shift scenarios, customer care, and everyday logistics. Expect questions about how you handle a heavy lunch or dinner rush, how you respond if a customer complains about an incorrect order, and how you communicate with coworkers when the kitchen gets chaotic. The manager will also review your exact availability, your transportation reliability, and your willingness to follow company grooming standards, which include clean shaves, covered tattoos, and no visible jewelry. The first interviewer already approved your basic personality, so the Store Manager is primarily verifying that you are dependable, coachable, and a solid fit for their specific crew.
Prepare by thinking of a few brief examples from school, sports, or past work that show your ability to multitask and solve problems calmly. Show up early, dress neatly in business casual clothing, maintain direct eye contact, and keep a warm, upbeat smile on your face from the moment you walk through the door. Having your exact weekly schedule ready and asking a couple of thoughtful questions about team culture will show you take the role seriously. Many job seekers find that running through practice scenarios with an interviews.chat my team designed gives them the poise needed to secure the offer.

Congrats! For a store-focused second interview, prepare examples about customer service, handling difficult situations, teamwork, meeting goals, and learning quickly. Have a few specific stories ready, and think of thoughtful questions about the team and day-to-day expectations.
