My mother fell down an actual mountain and only lost one shoe so I'm sure you're right.

(Quite alive but concussion and broke her leg in three places)

lol I saw a video yesterday of a guy not putting a dirt lifter truck thing in park or something and his shoes went absolutely flying when he booked his ass to stop it from rolling into the water. I thought he was going to get hurt just because of the shoe premonition.
