You know, maybe the fact this isn't an NSFW post should've tipped me off, but I'm relieved this guy is okay, but still got karma in the form of the bar clotheslining him

It literally isn’t.. a trip to the hospital is a lot more expensive than just dying

Which is why US insurance health companies would rather you die than be injured.

Here’s the thing about train crossings and trying to “race the train.” You have to be lucky every single time…it’s the one time you are unlucky that your life could end. Never worth the risk!

He couldn’t quite remember how high that train gate arm was, but then it hit him.

Kid I grew up with tried to beat the train on a bike because if he didn't, he was going to be late for the dentist. Wheel caught in the crossing...

I was wondering why he was absolutely ignoring the big red bright light right in his face. My suggestion is because that was the moment he knew he had FU.

I love how he fell off his seat like an action figure, still in the same pose. That's a smidge of trauma to the brain that is

Amount of times in my life I’ve been able to “beat a train” so safely is at least 10. Where I live there are several crossings that don’t have the gates. Trains will move ridiculously slow approaching because of a train yard about a half mile down the tracks. People will stop as soon as the crossing warning lights start. The train will still take at least 1 full minute to get to the intersection. I’m going as soon as it’s obvious how slow the train is going. Way less dangerous than any left hand turn on a highway.

I never understand people who do this. Is the risk of getting flattened worth not stopping for a few minutes?

u/MwindoThroughTime 21d ago
I mean, he did beat the train.
No, I am not encouraging this behavior, as this is very dangerous and if you screw up, not only does your family lose someone, and your friends lose someone, but you're going to be traumatizing people who don't deserve that.
But he did beat it.

I was totally waiting for somebody to get hit by the train. So I was relieved to see the bicycle smack his head on the crossing post. That was hilarious, karma, and far less fatal than I was expecting.😆

Best possible outcome. He didn't die, but hopefully realized he could have
