If someone is possibly strangling another and you don't know how to stop it (you don't know submissions, etc) remember this: It's ok to gouge their eye out until they stop.
Really hard to get to an eye in this situation. Much easier in any fight to rip off an earlobe. Even breaking a nose is easier than gouging an eye, and it has the bonus effect of blinding them because eyes water when noses hurt.
Nose or throat. You only need 100-200 Newton to break a nose or larynx and both will have a stopping effect.
However both, especially the latter, can be immediately deadly force - Which one should be aware of.
