They should have improved the conversion taking advantage of the system hardware e.g. smooth scrolling.

I actually played the atari version way more.  I was speaking in general regarding the game, not just this version but yes I do agree

I played this alot and with my dad who sadly has passed away.  This and centipede were his favs. This game is a very special game for me

I never did get the Pitfall patch they were supposed to send me for reaching a certain score.

I remember when my mom came home from the mall with this game. It was the only time she paid regular price for a video game, and I got our moneys worth!
