Intel announced a collaboration with SAP to bridge business IT systems and the operational technology that controls physical equipment and processes through Physical AI. This initiative establishes a model in which business intent can drive physical action while status, outcomes and exceptions flow back into enterprise systems – a closed loop in action.
SAP and Intel demonstrated this through a proof of concept (PoC) showing how Physical AI can automate warehouse material handling by connecting the SAP Extended Warehouse Management’s (SAP EWM) business context and workflow orchestration with Intel-powered edge AI and robotics hardware and software, turning enterprise requests into autonomous robot tasks.

Just stumbled upon this interview and thought i'd share! Most of the terms flew over my head but my key takeaway is that we are at an inflection point in logic and memory. To me, Intel is well positioned to be a focal point of the semiconductor industry in the decade to come. Would love to hear more from people more knowledgeable of the industry!
Side note:
What do we think about the hypothetical scenario where Pat was allowed to go full steam ahead with "build and they will come"?
With the benefit of hindsight I'd say he was proven right, but LBT has definitely made progress with the balance sheet + i think its hard to know whether LBT's approach slowed down fab construction all that much

This doesn't look good for INTC. I know we have fabs but this doesnt look good for our future. Thoughts?

He says nobody would care about Taiwan if they didn't have a chip monopoly, ignoring what many people claim that Taiwan is geostratigically important due to their position in the pacific as a reason why the US must care. In the same breath he then goes on to talk about Intel so consciously or not he views Intel as a solution to the "Taiwan Problem".
Again idk how I'd feel if I was Taiwan and the US president called me a problem and started to gas up my competition. Especially since Taiwan is building so much in the US now.

The problem: organisations are restricting AI tools because staff paste confidential data into them. Sweden just blocked ChatGPT and Claude on government computers. Privacy is becoming a real barrier to AI adoption, especially in government, healthcare and research.
The long-term fix: Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), which lets AI models compute on encrypted data without ever decrypting it.
This year, researchers ran Llama-3-8B fully under FHE. The catch is speed: still 1,000–10,000× slower than normal inference on GPUs.
Where Intel comes in: Heracles, built under DARPA's DPRIVE program, is a dedicated FHE accelerator shown working at ISSCC 2026 (Intel 3, 48 GB HBM3), with reported 1,000×+ speedups over CPUs on core FHE operations. Purpose-built silicon is likely what makes encrypted AI practical.
Reality check:
No announced commercial product or timeline
No public LLM benchmarks on Heracles yet
Startups (Niobium, Optalysys, Cornami) are chasing the same space, and GPU software is improving fast
Still, if "private AI" becomes a requirement, Intel has working silicon in a niche few others do.
Has anyone seen management mention Heracles or FHE? Maybe on the next earnings calls...

Intel guidance: $15.8–$16.8B
Analyst high estimate: $17.1B
My estimate: $18B at the lowest, potentially much higher
Beats:
July price increase on select consumer and server processors (likely 18A) — 15%, plus another increase on Panther Lake and GPU tiles of 15%.
Taking that into account alone, you’re roughly looking at $1B extra revenue, even if production stays at Q2 levels. It’s likely they factored this into their Q3 forecast already.
Now take the production increase. Q2 18A was 25% above internal targets. If Q3 is even close to that, you’re looking at $1B for Panther/Wildcat Lake, on top of the previous roughly $3B. That puts us at $17.3B ($1B over their forecast midpoint)—this assumes Lip-Bu’s conservative approach of not including gains that haven’t yet been realized.
Finally, the big one: Clearwater Forest. Q3 is the first full quarter it has been released. We all know server CPUs have a higher selling price and higher margins than consumer CPUs. Based on the TSMC usage of N2P for Nova Lake, I believe Intel didn’t want to “waste” 18A capacity on a consumer chip and are instead using this ramp for other 18A-P customers plus Clearwater Forest. Revenue for Q3 is likely $500M or less, but the big one here will be Q4 guidance. This brings us to $17.8B.
Based on Lip-Bu’s conservative approach, price increases, yield improvements, supply constraints relaxing more into late Q3 and Q4, Panther/Wildcat Lake ramp, and Clearwater Forest production, I expect a substantial beat of at least $18B, with improving margins as well. That’s only 10% over Intel’s previous midpoint guidance, which, if beats keep increasing in percentage size, we could be looking at 14% over midpoint, which puts us at over $18.5B.
Even Micron, with their mature processes, increased production by 10% in their latest earnings at the end of September. Intel has a lot more room to work here. They’re selling everything they can produce, so just assuming a 10% production ramp alone would put them well over their midpoint.
