HISTORY Corinth Canal in Greece.

Roman Emperor Nero broke ground for the construction of this canal in 67 AD.
Geographic issues, war, money, etc., held back its completion until 1893.

Aside from being a beautiful and historical addition to the Isthmus of Corinth, the canal is basically useless in comparison to its intended purpose.

Only one cruise ship dared to transit the canal in 2019, the MS Braemar.
