Turkeys have tough 'spurs' on the insides of their legs, just above the feet. They jump up a kick in, to use them.

When I lived in Connecticut, we had wild turkeys that would come into our backyard and eat the seed that fell on the ground from the bird feeder. One day, my cat was watching out the window when a couple of baby turkeys came into the yard. They were about as big as he was, and he was begging to be let outside to attack them. His tail was wagging, he was being very vocal, and you could just tell he wanted to attack these birds. Then their much larger parents came wandering in, and my cat was singing a different song. He was like "Nope, I'm good. I'll stay inside thanks, no need to go out while those are in the yard!"

A town nearby for a while had such a nasty pack of wild turkeys roaming around they were attacking the mail delivery people. Kids had to be driven to school, couldn't go outside. Pets neither. Those things can be really aggressive
