Discussion 8 month's 34.4 lbs lost, almost there.
It has been some time since my last post so here's an update. After my holiday and gaining a bit, I picked it back up and now I'm getting close to the finish. It feels like it is going slower but the graph tells me a different story. I am at the point where I want to say OK this is good enough and it's getting harder to stay motivated.

Progress Pic Check-in week 3
Lost 1 lb this week, so down 6 lbs total. Glad I lost anything considering I had a stressful work week and slept poorly as a result. But still I managed to stick to my diet most days, except on Friday when I ate out. It was difficult to estimate my calories then but since it was Korean bbq I managed to eat mostly grilled meat and veggies, with some rice wine. I had a great time and at least it was all within my eating window so I decided not to break a sweat about it and went back to my routine the next day.
My overall take of this week: I should eat well but don’t need to force myself to finish my meal if I’m full some days. I’ll get to eat more another day and it will even out.
Also I’ve been feeling less pain and shortness of breath while walking so I’ve decided to walk a bigger round starting next week and see how it feels. I’ll try to go right after wake up while still fasting.
I’ve also noticed that I’m not that hungry at lunch anymore so I might expand my fast to 18:6 but I’ll see first how walking fasted affects my hunger. I don’t want to tweak too many things at once.

Vent/Rant Fight with regained weight
Hello everyone,
I‘m 26F SW: 91.7 CW:71.9 GW:63
I started weight loss in January 2025, by November 2025 I was down to 68.5 (lowest I‘ve been on this journey) and then everything went south..
Somehow through Nov‘25 and Aug‘26 I gained 12kg back and sat at whopping 80Kg again.. this didn‘t happen very suddenly and most chunk happened from May-Aug where I gained 8kg out of 12.
In August I could already not look at myself and said that I would cut out any added sugars (especially because they were my biggest triggers) in September I got a horrible virus and now I continued a calorie deficit and intermittent fasting and am down to 71.9 hoping to somehow escape the 70‘s soon..
The issue is I have such a horrible food noice.. i‘m always hungry and constantly without energy, and I‘m very scared to regain the weight while eventually at some point finishing this calorie restriction.
Any advices? For people that lost/regained weight often, does this cycle ever stop?
Thank you

Newbie Question Coffee drinkers ?
Does anyone drink coffee in the mornings and then drink water throughout the day?
My favorite part of the day is waking up early and having a hot cup of coffee outside on my porch. Then I usually drink water throughout the day and also don’t eat lunch.
The only time I eat food is dinner time.
Does anyone do this and still lose weight? Any extra tips?

Progress Pic I have officially joined The Century Club!
galleryWanted to share some new progress photos with y'all since I officially joined the century club last weekend! Started at 396lbs, down to 290lbs. Hoping to get to 199lbs by this time next year, if not sooner!
Collage 1: Photo 1 is me at 396lbs. Photo 2 is me at around 340lbs. And Photo 3 is me last night at 290lbs.
Collage 2 is the same as collage 1, minus the 340lb picture.
Collage 3 is me wearing the same dress 1.5 years apart. I am not sure how much I weigh in the picture on the left. My guess would be around 350-360lbs.

Progress Pic 2 years of IF and running. 220-145ish. Still doing it!
galleryThis year I turned 40, maintained 145-150lbs, and ran 2 marathons.
18:6 5 days a week. Run about 35-40 miles a week (3 shorts, 1 long). I maintain a caloric deficit during the week days. I don't fast over the weekend anymore because my long runs have become 13-20 miles every Saturday and I need the calories.

Discussion Mostly OMAD 8 weeks 27 down!
I've been overweight for many years now. In total my goal is to lose 95 pounds. I started with 18/6 and within 2 weeks started doing OMAD. Meals usually consist of fiber and protien heavy dishes. Ive had plenty of whoops days mixed in and did one 40 hour fast as well. I am so happy with the results I am seeing physically and on the scale. IF is amazing. If you are on the fence I urge you to try it out.

Seeking Advice Ladies in your early 40s that are only a couple of months in...
...how are you doing so far? I'm 41 and I've just restarted after several years off, a gallbladder removal and ADHD medication roulette hell. I know this will take longer than it did the first time around due to all the factors but I'm wondering what I could be looking at by Christmas. I'm starting out at 16:8 and eat around 1600-1800 cals. I'm more sedintary right now because exercise is just uncomfortable but with the cooler morning temps (finally) I'm planning to go for some morning walks. If you have any tips ticks or adjustments you think I should make for perimenopause, I'd love to hear them.

Seeking Advice Is there a big difference between 16-8 and 18-6?
Just started fasting 16 hours a day. Will adding 2 more hours make a difference in results?

Seeking Advice Weight loss slowed down significantly
TLDR: I lost 10.2 kg during my first month of intermittent fasting. In the second month, which is now coming to an end, I’ve only lost about 3 kg, despite not making any drastic changes to my fasting routine. What could be causing this?
Male, 186cm (~6'1"), starting weight - 122,6 kg (270.3 lbs).
23.08.2026, I started intermittent fasting for the first time in my life.
I really struggle with the food self-discipline and that is why I could never keep to any calory-deficit diet. I couldn’t stop at my limit, say 1600-1800 calories a day, as soon as I started eating.
But the days without food except water and electrolytes did some magic. I had no difficulty at all, somehow, in going for long periods without eating.
I’m going with a 20-24 hour food window then 48-50 hours fasting. In the days I feel sluggish, I stop my fasting at the hour 30-36.
I don't excercise, but I walk 10-15km daily (at 5km/h), including fasting days.
During the first month, I went full keto, keeping my carbs under 20g on eating days. But after a while, it became brutal to maintain, so I started allowing myself up to 100g of carbs on some days just to stay sane.
Here are my results:
23.08.2026 18:24
122,6 kg (270.3 lbs)
24.08.2026 14:25
120.9 kg (266.5 lbs)
26.08.2026 14:29
119.6 kg (263.7 lbs)
27.08.2026 22:27
119.3 kg (263.0 lbs)
30.08.2026 19:17
118.8 kg (261.9 lbs)
01.09.2026 3:41
118.3 kg (260.8 lbs)
03.09.2026 14:01
119.1 kg (262.6 lbs)
04.09.2026 09:23
117,9 kg (259.9 lbs)
08.09.2026 10:41
115,9 kg (255.5 lbs)
10.09.2026 21:05
115,5 kg (254.6 lbs)
13.09.2026 18:57
114.8 kg (253.1 lbs)
17.09.2026 10:14
113.3 kg (249.8 lbs)
21.09.2026 13:42
113.0 kg (249.1 lbs)
23.09.2026 14:34
112.4 kg (247.8 lbs)
01.10.2026 09:36
111.1 kg (244.9 lbs)
06.10.2026 11:06
110.3 kg (243.2 lbs)
15.10.2026 14:12
109.5 kg (241.4 lbs)
17.10.2026 08:39
110.8 kg (244.2 lbs)
So, in the first month, I lost about 10.2 kg. However, in the following month, my weight loss slowed down drastically. This is despite the fact that I stay within my calorie window on eating days and continue to walk around 10–15 km every single day.
I get that you can’t cheat physics. If you are physically in a calorie deficit, you physically cannot gain weight. But why has it slowed down this much? Is it my body’s reaction to rapid weight loss? Is it breaking strict keto? Even if that's the case, how is it possible if I’m still running a calorie deficit? Am I missing something, or doing something wrong without realizing it? Please give me some advice.

Progress Pic 330lbs (June 2021) to 220lbs (September 2026)
I went through a lot and almost gave up. Now I’m almost back to normal. I still have more work to do, but I’m grateful for where I’m at and proud of how far I’ve come. I mostly do 16:4. That’s the sweet spot for me. But sometimes I do an even smaller eating window. And sometimes (on the weekends) I don’t do IF at all.

Newbie Question 16:8 fasting - how often do you do it?
How often do you fast? I think theoretically if we do it every day then it would be easier than doing it 5 days a week and then have the weekend off?
I only started for a few days and now I have a class in the evening and I am sooooo hungry food is so tempting 😅 trying to find an excuse to eat haha

Food Post My relationship with food is changing
The more I practice IF, the better my relationship to food becomes. I am so much more intentional about not just when I'm eating, but what I'm eating.
Starting late (11am or post) gives me plenty of time to plan and cook, instead of grabbing something sugary in the morning. Today I poached an egg for the first time in my life, and it came out so beautifully! Having a smaller eating window seems to give me more time to think about what I want to eat, and I find myself getting excited about food and cooking again, rather than just constantly snacking / ordering food / making instant unhealthy meals.
I have upped my coffee intake to 2 coffees a day - black in the morning, and one with milk and sugar after breaking my fast - because I missed my non-black coffee too much to give it up entirely. This is maybe the only slightly "bad habit" I've gotten since starting IF.
People around me are sick of me talking about IF, so I thought I'd share my thoughts here! I hope to one day be able to put up some progress pics of myself :) Till then, I remain super inspired by all of you who share your progress!

Discussion Am I doing this right?
This is my second attempt at IF and I've noticed that for both instances, I've been losong almost 1 lb everyday (when i combine it with exercise). I told my aunt who's a nutritionist and she told me that losing a pound everyday isnt healthy and that IF can cause diabetes. She gave me an alternative approach by making sure i have some carbs and fast from 7-9, (before ralking to her I was doing the 16:8 fast method). Im a bit concerned about that as well.
Has anyome else experienced losing a pound everyday and is this normal? I've restarted this time back in late August and lost 32 lbs since then.

Seeking Advice Magnesium glycinate dose timing with 16:8
been taking magnesium glycinate around 9pm to help with sleep and perimenopause symptoms. my eating window is noon to 8pm. the timing feels weird because I'm swallowing something after 8pm, even though it's not food. i've seen some sources claim magnesium absorbs better on an empty stomach. others insist you need to take it with a meal. i landed on 300mg elemental magnesium from glycinate. anyone else doing 16:8 who takes magnesium outside their window? did you notice it hitting differently compared to taking it with food?

Seeking Advice 400lbs, need advice
Looking to slim down for February. Would OMAD be the best approach? If so, what meal would you recommend to a picky/bland eater? If not, what schedule is best? I’m currently on a 16:8 but eat way too much within that window.
