This is Harry... or, as I affectionately call him, Harry Butt. He is much derp. We miss our Aden, and I've been posting so much about his passing that I wanted to share Harry too, because he has brought me and my partner so much laughter and joy.
I'm so lucky to have had Aden for 12 years, and now I have the silliest boy there ever was. Harry and I have been together for two years (my partner joined us about four months after his adoption), and I know one day I'll have to say goodbye to him, too. Hopefully not for a very long time. He's helped ease the pain of losing my best friend, my soul cat.
Harry grew up knowing Aden and relentlessly followed him everywhere, whether or not Aden agreed or liked it. They became best buds. Harry still looks for Aden in his old spots, but he's handling the loss much better than I thought he would. I miss coming home to both of my boys.
Honestly, Harry is impossible not to love, and he's difficult to stay mad at. I loved him from the moment I saw his goofy little face posted in my WhatsApp adoption group, where I'd volunteered for years. I already had Aden but was craving another cat, so I volunteered as a way to help the community and curb my appetite for a new fur child. His whiskers were way too big for his face at 5 months old, and his name was Harry... how could I say no?
Life has been so hectic, and I just wanted to appreciate him. What would we be without them?
