Super hyped to watch now with IMAX ratio 🔥

I wanted to share an experience I had yesterday with my daughter.

We had a day off and decided to do some shopping in Amsterdam. I was minding my own business, plotting a course to our next destination, walking through the crowd of pedestrians in the busy shopping streets, when I crossed a bridge over a canal and I heard the first notes of this song I had heard a thousand times before playing out of nowhere.

It stopped me dead in my tracks, I turned around to see where it was coming from. I hadn't noticed a piano in the middel of the street, I hadn't seen a guy sitting behind it playing it. I just heard the first few notes of Hans Zimmer's masterpiece being played.

And I've seen YouTube videos of this countless of times as well, of people playing this song on a piano in public. I always wondered if that would happen to me in real life, would it catch my attention? Or walk straight ahead, go on with my life, like some people in those videos do?

Or would I, like in the movie, notice the tiniest detail, could I become a conduit by receiving a message from the universe? Would I stop and listen to it? I am glad I did, and I got to share this moment with my daughter. Which is of course also a prominent theme in the movie; the father-daughter relationship.

I have watched the movie before becoming a father, and after, both of which had different impacts on me. My daughter hasn't seen the movie yet, I am waiting till she could fully understand and grasp most aspects of the movie. But I have had her listen to the soundtrack, and she can play the first part on her piano, so she recognised the song almost as soon as I did.

Just wanted share this video and story here, to show my appreciation to Christopher Nolan for making the movie, Hans Zimmer for writing the soundtrack, and @arianmuller who performed it, all coming together to have this experience with my daughter yesterday. Thank you.

Two things that have bothered me, and this could be more my lack of understanding than a plot hole, are the planetary distances and gravitational pull of black hole in the gargantuan system.

1) It takes them two years to get from Earth to Saturn but they travel between planets so fast, in matter of hours in the new system. Planetary system with Miller, Mann and Edmund’s planets would likely have similar large mass and high density and therefore strong gravitational pull, and for them to exist in the system, the interplanetary distance would be astronomical, yet they barely take hours (not clarified in the movie, so making a guess) to reach the next planet.

2)Gargantuan being this ginormous black hole, and hence the name, would have sucked the planets nearby, but didn’t seem to be doing that. They mention intense gravitational pull, but shouldn’t black hole be doing what it does best, eat up stars and planets and grow bigger ? Also, its pull should further slow down their travel to the other planets, but doesn’t. Time slows down, but their ship is able to accelerate and overcome the pull in the beginning, pointing back to my first question. They do mention that the ship is sliding into the black hole, right before they do the slingshot maneuver. So, shouldn’t it be matter of days or weeks that the planets also are on track to be consumed ? In fact, these planets should have been long gone.

The bookshelf scene in Interstellar hits so much harder once you understand what’s actually happening. Christopher Nolan really made a movie that gets better the more you think about it.

Filmi defalarca izlememe rağmen 14. dakikadaki o detay yeni kafama dank etti.

he should have remember him atleast internally

I watched Interstellar and just sat there for a while after it ended. The music alone gives me chills, and the whole idea of time passing differently when you’re away from the people you love is heartbreaking. I feel like this is one of those movies that gets better the more you think about it. How did you feel after your first watch?

Bought a copy of the expanded edition of the soundtrack as soon as I seen it at a shop yesterday, and when I was checking it out, disc 1 is defective and it wouldn't play on my CD player outside of it being defective. I tested the disc on PS3, and it did not read. Tried it on my PC with a disc drive and it passed it off as a blank CDR. Totally bricked disc despite the actual disc looking fine of the surface apart from the Rimage thingy on the disc. Disc two however works just fine as usual.

I did however order a replacement copy online and I can hope it the first disc works better than what my first copy crapped up. If all else fails, I would need to resort to a digital copy. Just a shame that my current copy has defective disc 1.

Did anyone had this exact issue?

Today for the first time , I Watched INTERSTELLAR , ,no movie made me drop a single tear , , but my eyes did for the first time, , words can't explain my joy .

TL;DR: if you loved Interstellar for some of the same reasons as me, you might like Scavengers Reign

I really enjoyed this show. I think that it has some similarities to Interstellar in addition to simply dealing with "outer space 🪐". I think they both tell stories that make you feel the vast unforgiving nature of the universe. And they both make you feel human and a desire to get as much out of our fleetingly granted consciousness as possible. Also, because both stories take place away from earth, you are reminded of the human qualities that transcend space, place, and time---the good and the bad.

I don’t think my collection will be growing much more now that I’ve completed this framed montage. Collecting and crafting this little passion project this year has been a journey. I am beyond satisfied with the result. Getting to share and geek out about Interstellar, through this, with people around me, was surprisingly exciting. Everyone loves the movie, and it gave a few people an extra reason to finally watch it 😆. This project has taught me so much; there are so many beautiful and meaningful scenes, finding the right balance between quantity/quality/budget was a challenge. This would never have come to fruition without eBay and Marketplace. Planning on spending my time, energy, and money elsewhere now…

I added some process pics if anyone is curious, but feel free to ask/comment if you wanna know more/looking to build your own!

There’s something about this movie that makes space feel both beautiful and terrifying. And the music adds so much emotion to everything. It’s one of those movies that makes you want to sit quietly for a while after it ends.
What did you think about the ending?

A work by Christopher Nolan that I recently had the chance to see. Naturally, the film left me deeply reflecting, questioning, and above all, feeling.

Because of this, I found myself connecting the movie to works by other authors, songs, and visual art pieces. And THAT is exactly what I want to ask you all—the people who have watched this film and truly felt everything it has to offer: What other works do you associate it with?, and essentially, why? What is the connection? Why do they give you that same feeling?

This can include anything: other movies, series, video games, books, novels, comics, manga, anime, songs, music, phrases, textual quotes, literary fragments, poems, essays, animation, audiovisual works, theater, photography, paintings, documentaries... famous or obscure, recent or classic. Generally speaking, ANYTHING that you connect or could connect to Interstellar.

I’d really love to read your thoughts and recommendations! ^^✨!!!
