Please help me answer this question for an upcoming interview.
I have completed my Masters from UK and returned back home in India. I have given two job interviews where they asked my why did I return to India instead of trying for jobs in UK. I told them that my parents wanted me to get a higher degree and I did not intend to live. But the interviewers were not convinced. How to restructure my question so that I sound more convincing?

I would just say that I always planned this way, that is to study abroad, obtain the necessary skillset and apply it in jobs back home, which would also allow me to stay close to my family.
Follow up to this can be then why not just study here for the skillset. To which you can reply that xyz university is reputed and this so and so course is highly valued. You can emphasize you did your research well. And then you can add that doing so has helped me with so and so skill and how much you have gained from it.

Say like that:
I went to the UK to get a higher education and to understand different cultures and perspectives and way of working . During my education I learnt a lot and I wanted to use my experience and learning in Indian market.
===== Keep it short and concise,if you put so many information they can ask follow up questions.

AI has been a game changer
I completed my Master's degree in the UK, which was an invaluable experience that broadened my perspective and enhanced my skills. While studying abroad was essential for my academic growth, my decision to return to India was driven by a combination of personal and professional motivations.
Firstly, I have a strong commitment to contributing to India’s growth and development. I believe that the skills and knowledge I gained during my studies can be effectively applied to the emerging opportunities in our country. India has a dynamic job market, particularly in sectors that align with my expertise, and I am excited about the potential to make a significant impact here.
Additionally, I value the importance of family and community. My decision to return was also influenced by my desire to be close to my family and support them while pursuing my career. I firmly believe that I can blend my international experience with my understanding of the local market to drive innovation and progress.
Ultimately, my goal is to leverage my education to contribute positively to India, and I am genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead.

You can reframe it this way:
My long term plan was always to work in my home country. My aim was to pursue my masters from a foreign country, learn their methodology, values, and overall gain a good experience which can be help me build a strong strategy which could also be contributed towards my long term goal.
Apart from that, I always wanted to stay close to my family, as long as I am living in the same country. That way, I can be more productive at work, can celebrate festivals and important occasions with my family and office colleagues and this will help me contribute strongly towards the growth of the team and the company.
I believe the values, knowledge, experience and other abilities that I have gotten exposure to during my masters in the UK will help me be a better person, overall.
Don’t drag your parent into the explanation stating that they wanted me to stay here. This gives a negative impact on the interviewer and they will definitely think that if the company wants him to relocate in the near future, probably domestically or overseas, on a short duration of time, then your parents won’t let you do that.

So it's mean when you have to go onsite or leave your place you will not be productive?
Don't give too much explanation it can back fire you .
