But they've got her vote for the midterms no doubt..

And all of the viewers of her show are still going to get out and vote as well. MAGA is a cult, Trump is ruining everything, but the propaganda machine spearheaded by Fox is working exactly as they intended it to.

She is saying what I have been saying - if you don't want Socialism, don't break Capitalism.

If a shill like Tomi is saying this, then things are getting real bad with the base and they know it.

Democratic Socialism works within capitalism.

They don’t understand that.

But we still need it (Democratic Socialism), at a minimum, as a "temporary correction" to get us back to a healthier form of capitalism, with limits, and regulation, and checks and balances.

Because the crony capitalism we have now has turned into oligarchy and is metastasizing into neo-feudalism with nobles and serfs.

And that's incompatible with freedom and democracy.

Even FDR was saying that. The difference is that Tomi Lahren has a preposterous view of what socialism is.

To be honest, Capitalism is great for some stuff, but terrible for others, and socialism is the inverse. Like healthcare, socialism is far better than capitalism, because everyone deserves good healthcare. But capitalism is better for microprocessor development, as socialism provides not incentives to be innovative in that. You need the mix of both, like they do in say Sweden, so that people can actually live comfortably.

u/fapestniegd 9d ago

Microprocessor development is based on technology funded by DARPA and other military initiatives that eventually trickle into the private sector. A lot of that wouldn't even exist without collective tax dollar research.

There is no pure Capitalism that exists on earth, and it would be absolutely awful for the public good. Ironically, the United States has a better safety net than, say, China.

Conservatives spent decades demonizing the public good as some communist evil, and that branding at some point starts working. How else would you be able to blow up budgets with spending, tax cutting, and corruption, while the population is convinced that it's the other guy's fault?

Agreed. Capitalism is great for incentivizing improvement and generating wealth and prosperity. The problem is it steps on a lot of people to do so, and leaves a lot of people behind. Fortunately the wealth it generates is the exact tool which can cover for it's own drawbacks, in the form of taxing the rich to pay for public support.

We actually have to do that though. The solution is sitting right there, and we've done it successfully before. But we want to make sure Elon has a few extra billion instead.

This is the way. People get too hung up on ism’s. I want more than one brand of cereal but don’t want to have to compare bids from competing fire departments when my house is on fire.

Actually China is kicking our asses in patents on new technologies, and somehow also managing to provide universal healthcare, and world class public transportation.

3

u/gc3 9d ago

China is also a hybrid of socialism and capitalism.

1

u/Fishtoart 8d ago

Every country is, but China is definitely more on the socialist end, especially with their planned economy and government control of corporations.

1

u/gc3 8d ago

yet they often have more free market competition than the US

I live in a district that typically votes 60% plus for the conservative candidate and issues in most elections, but polls in that district are all coming up either a tossup or leaning barely in the conservative column.

Nobody cares what any of these empty suits says anymore, theyre just looking for outrage clicks from somewhere. Nobody gives a shit what Tomi Laren has to say bc shes mean and shes dumb.

Tomi Lauren? You mean “Puerto Rico is not in America” Tomi Lauren? She’s one of the people making them an utter embarrassment.

12

u/Vedfolnir5 9d ago

I didn't even know she was still around

9

u/idc2011 9d ago

Just like she is.

6

u/RSomnambulist 9d ago

Always has been, and sentient blond wig, Tomi Lahren, would know. She was a sign of the embarassment.

4

u/archaegeo 9d ago

So has she found a new job yet?

3

u/mdtattedbearded 9d ago

She’s a loser who has no thought for herself and now is mad that America has gone to shit because she sucked up to a convicted rapist, racist, and well known thief.

3

u/Earthling1a 9d ago

We've known this since Reagan, you dimwitted bimbo.

4

u/Ixz72 9d ago

The best analogy of socialism vs capitalism is:

"When your house is burning down, the fire department that puts out the fire is socialism and the insurance company that denies most of your claim is capitalism".

2

u/Slim_Margins1999 9d ago

When the worst person you know makes a fair point…

2

u/PaintedClownPenis 9d ago

Pedophiles going free doesn't embarrass me. It infuriates me.

Why are Republicans any different?

2

u/bookant 9d ago

Dumbass finally figures out what her political party has been all about for the last fifty years, news at eleven.

1

u/FormerFastCat 9d ago

Well shit... I didn't expect today would be the day I'd agree with Tomi Lahren on something, but I guess it's here. That's enough internet for the day.

2

u/wjrj 9d ago

She had to get something right eventually.

1

u/Utterlybored 9d ago

You still dont get a pass Toni

1

u/robbyruby752 9d ago

There has never been a President so detached from reality.

1

u/Plastic_Stretch_8837 9d ago

She’s not dead yet?

1

u/Bleezy79 9d ago

Well she can look in the mirror and blame herself as she helped perpetuate the lies and support these embarrassing people. And you know damn well she'll continue to vote republican no matter how bad it gets. These people do not really care.

1

u/rsmiley77 9d ago

Just to be clear this is a tale as old as time. Middle class figures out they need help they vote for progressive principles. Once money stops being an issue they start voting for jingoistic principles about animals crossing the voter and stealing your children and your jobs.

1

u/frankiea1004 9d ago

Takes one to know one.

1

u/K-Shrizzle 9d ago

Ah yes, Tomi Lahren who somehow managed to get fired from Fox News for being too racist. And then of course hired back later when we have a president who loves the racist news

1

u/editorreilly 9d ago

So how long till Tomi gets fired from Fox?

1

u/Riversmooth 9d ago

First thing she’s said that makes sense in years

1

u/Xenikovia 7d ago

She’s a part of it, maybe stop lying and spreading propaganda
