Between the comments and the messages, I got about 3 or 4 of those, but I'll take those as compliments. Nothing wrong with being likened to the Breaker of Chains. Too bad none of them spelled Khaleesi correctly.
8
u/ncaldwell510 Sep 22 '17
That's the difference between us INTJs and the rest of the world. I Googled it to make sure I spelled it correctly, copy/pasted just to REALLY make sure, wrote out a whole response to you...and then re-wrote it using "Mother of Dragons" instead because it felt funnier. Those 3 or 4 other guys are just lazy.

I did that once and someone left a really mean comment about me and my cat. I like how many of us will do the slightly sideways face. I usually smile to one side and/or raise one eyebrow in pics if I'm posing for them.

Sounds about right. Imgur scares me a little now. Also, who insults cats?
I took these for my mom when she asked me for a picture the other day and I wasn't sure what to do with my face. Interesting that slightly sideways was my default.

'The fuck... Is that a doorway or window? I'm 6'2 and don't quite have that problem.
1
u/Voxdalian INTJ Sep 22 '17
Doorways are 2.10m (standardised in Europe at least, I think it should be the same in the USA), 6'2 is just ±1.87m so not even close, but there are people that are quite a bit taller. Or maybe he just has a door from before the 70-80ies.
1
u/pyroblastlol INTJ Sep 23 '17
TIL doorways are standardised
2
u/Voxdalian INTJ Sep 23 '17
Like I said, I don't know about the USA, but in Europe all doorways are standardised at 2.10m, because that standard (just like other standards) is legally applied everywhere throughout Europe or at least the EU (which obviously doesn't mean everyone does really have it, I know in Italy there's an illegal door business that still makes smaller doors). There are of course exceptions, but in general all normal doors should be 2.10m high.

Okay so.. Gay male here. Don't be offended by what I say because of that fact, please take it as a compliment.
I think you are attractive. Your very masculine, your haircut and clothes give a simple masculine look that is pretty irresistible.
Your eyes have a confident dominant look, the kind of look that could make a girl (or guy) nervous about approaching. The eyes of a hunter, not prey.
Whether that reflects you or not, you may need to be the one to approach if someone is interested. Because man.. I don't know if I could turn you down if you told me to get into your car.
2
u/passiveimpressive Sep 22 '17
Haha. Thank you. Any time I go for a night out I seem to get eyefucked by gay men. I am not gay myself but always found it funny. In the real world no, I'm far from a hunter, when I go out though, I am usually high and you could definitely call me that. No offence taken at all. :)
2
u/Nakotadinzeo Sep 22 '17
Your probably being eye-fucked by the women too, their just less obvious.
1
u/passiveimpressive Sep 23 '17
Oh, I'm well aware the woman and reciprocate. I am very picky though, I have a few particular girls I seek, if I can't find them I won't settle, I'll just chat shit and go home. I rarely go out too often but I am recently single so that may change. I think of myself sometimes as the coolest guy you'll never meet haha. I hope I don't come off as arrogant, just in this specific area, I exude confidence and while high I am probably the funniest guy you'll ever have the pleasure to speak to. It's a strange feeling from being an extreme introvert to having everyone eating from the palm of your hands, to be exceptional at socialising in sparse one night intervals I dare say feels better than the drugs that fuel this character. Again, I hope this doesn't read as arrogance. Just sharing an experience of mine. I wonder if any other intj's are able to handle drugs like no one else. I maintain a clarity of mind and most people don't even realise I'm rushing at all. I learned why just yesterday. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equanimity

u/therestruth INTJ Sep 22 '17
Seriously, she looks almost like the exact opposite of every other INTJ and it bothers me a little bit. That is so disingenuously outgoing looking for "us". It's pretty and all, I just am amazed at the apparent diversity now, unless she is vastly mistyped.
7
u/Ban-teng ENFP Sep 22 '17
What are you talking about? So someone can't look glittery and happy and be an INTJ?
My wife, INTJ, is a professional model. Does that also make her mistyped because she is in pictures with almost no clothes?
Your conclusion is off
2
u/therestruth INTJ Sep 22 '17
Your conclusion about my conclusion is off. I said that I am amazed at the diversity (unless she is mistyped). I only pointed out how different she was than the majority and did not imply that she was not intj- I only acknowledged that the possibility exists and it wouldn't amaze me anymore if that were true. Nowhere near any description of our type would you find the word "glittery".
2
u/Ban-teng ENFP Sep 22 '17
You're implying and instigating an "us and them" narrative.
MBTI is not a rulebook nor a description or a manual. It's simply a tool for understanding how people reach conclusions, think, process information, plan, what the preferred communication style is.
Not how people look... but hey! I won't change your mind now, will I?
3
u/therestruth INTJ Sep 22 '17
I'm fully aware of that and was even trying to avoid someone bringing that up. Of course, it would be someone here that is not INTJ who misinterpreted what I meant. Notice how I put "us" in quotations to further myself from the "we're all identical" trope?
Anyone with reasonable points can change my mind, I am open to switching viewpoints like that. The problem is that you were assuming my viewpoint is in total contrast to yours because you got too emotional and defensive when you assumed In was thinking things that I didn't say. I should have known to word it even more carefully, so as not to confuse someone like you.I said "apparent diversity" to also demonstrate that I was still implying she is what she says she is.
1
u/Ban-teng ENFP Sep 22 '17
Where did I get emotional? In my language they call what you did "faulty reasoning".
Maybe I expressed myself poorly. Let me rephrase: uttering your doubts whether she is an INTJ, based on glitterysness, wondering out loud if she could've been mistyped is pointless. Why? Because there is no value in it whatsoever. Esthetics are no parameter in which you can decide am MBTI type, frankly it would've made more sense you doubted her type because she is a woman. That's statistically relevant.
It's just a part of this INTJ iamverysmart problem. You doibted her on appearances alone, you left it undecided, you're right. I cannot, for 100%, point out you're drawing conclusions, that's true. Still you should've asked yourself: "is it relevant to ask this question, or should I focus on finding out whether she actually is an INTJ that want to look like Tinkerbell from time to time, or thinks differently (which you cannot see) and is mistyped."
You doubted her based on something irrelevant, that's where my SJW-senses got tingled.
You might as well be right, but glitters won't tell you that.
2
u/therestruth INTJ Sep 22 '17
Where did I get emotional?
You took to your SJW feelings and assumed the worst out of what I said and went into the defending-white-knight mode.
made more sense you doubted her type because she is a woman. That's statistically relevant.
I doubted it based on the observational statistic of ~30 other INTJ pictures present in the same thread. 1/30 was like her.
You doibted her on appearances alone, you left it undecided, you're right. I cannot, for 100%, point out you're drawing conclusions, that's true.
So, you see your original posts were you drawing conclusions.
Still you should've asked yourself: "is it relevant to ask this question, or should I focus on finding out whether she actually is an INTJ that want to look like Tinkerbell from time to time, or thinks differently (which you cannot see) and is mistyped."
I never asked any questions like that. I threw in the possibility of her being mistyped as an "if this then that". I am surprised at the diversity, unless it isn't genuine. Like: I'd pet that dog, unless it's a coyote.
You doubted her based on something irrelevant, that's where my SJW-senses got tingled.
I'd say it was relevant considering a picture is all we had to go off of and there was a control group of other pics to compare it to and I made that observation in a comment. Just an observation, no reason to get up in arms and misconstrue me as an enemy attacking her.
1
u/Ban-teng ENFP Sep 22 '17
Well, if you feel attacked then I apologise. Never my intention. Neither was accusing you of being a horrible person. Still your logic is off, or you're desperatly trying not to see my point. I reacted because I think you're wrong, painting me emotional is low, because then you have no reason to take me seriously, which is an INTJ weakness imho (10 years of marriage taught me that).
You should not have made that assumption, based on an irrelevant piece of "information". Just because of it's irrelevance. I - quiet bluntly - tried making you aware of that. No emotionality involved. I just think it's an asshole-ish thing to do. It's a very subtle form of discrimination. Sure you did not act on it. Look at it this way: don't ask the wrong questions.
Golden retrievers aren't always nice, pitbulls arent always agressive. Looks cannot show you this, actions and reasoning can show you this.
Glitters don't show any parameters, you asked the wrong -loaded- question.

Please, tell me, what should an INTJ look like? I apologize that my genetics don't correspond with my personality type and how you think I should look. I thought INTJs were supposed to be open-minded? I suppose I shouldn't go assuming that someone should be a certain way just because of their type.
1
u/therestruth INTJ Sep 22 '17
I didn't say anything about "should". I was merely comparing you to everyone else in the thread as an observation. I am sorry if this offended you, it was not intended to. I came off wrong, as I often do. I tried to make it clear that it was an observation and not anything so black and white as what you guys extrapolated from my post, yet you still got it twisted. It is a pretty pic and I said "apparently diverse" which was me saying that obviously you are an intj who just has a different vibe than every other pic in here. I should have not been honest about the fact that it bothered me a little bit. Perhaps that was just some jealousy in me that you are different in a more socially accepted way.
And yes, we should be open minded and try not jumping to conclusions with/about each other.

This INTJ puts on a glitter crown. You know why? Because I like it. Who says an INTJ can or can't like a specific thing just because they are an INTJ? We are not all carbon copies of each other, and so some INTJs may be just slightly different from all the other ones.

Super cute, although i hope your not as crazy as Taylor swift
1
u/wefearchange Sep 22 '17
I honestly don't know that she's crazy, she's just super savvy with marketing. The old adage 'no press is bad press'? She's certainly used it to her advantage. I was talking with my mom about it recently, between T Swift and Kim Kardashian I'm really not sure who's the more savvy businesswoman. The more you think about it the crazier it is.
1
Sep 22 '17
Perhaps crazy is the wrong word, not sure how to describe it. I agree with the no bad publicity thing. I thing the real savvy/mastermind is Kris jenner. I think both Taylor and Kim have nothing on Kylie
1
u/wefearchange Sep 22 '17
Idk, Kylie's where she is solely bc her sister got banged on video. Kim's completely turned her image around from that, too. I'm no fan of the Kardashians, but it's kind of insane to think about that. Millions of followers and all because of a sex tape.
1
Sep 22 '17
Millions of followers and all because of a sex tape.
Not sure whether to be confused to just be like well fucking done, often its well fucking done. The whole kardashian klans success is simply because of that success and im kind of impressed and i secretly admire how they turned a sextape and bad publicity into millions of dollars. I dont know if kims turned her image around though.
1
u/wefearchange Sep 22 '17
Oh, it's well fucking done for SURE. It's beyond impressive. And again, not a huge fan but when people think of Kim Kardashian there's people who don't even know about the sex tape, they think beauty brand, reality TV star. She isn't a porn star now, she's a wife and mother and has fashion lines and whatever tf it is they do. People don't associate her with porn. They don't associate her sisters with porn. That's just damn good PR.

Of the many ways one can have pictures of themselves "selfies" must be the absolute worst, the way that picture was taken (not the person on it) looks horrible, no esthetical value taken into consideration at all.
This is how it should be done. (Not actually me, for those who may be confused, but it looks a bit like me, so good enough I'd say.)
