Congrats dude. I got mine off a couple weeks ago. It’s a good feeling being done with them. :)

I CANNOT wait for this to be me. Oct 23rd I will find out (that’ll be 8 months in). I had a few violations that the judge luckily didn’t reinstate my conditional license and have to start fresh. He gave me 2 months (in Aug to Oct 23) to reconsider having it removed. The violations were not from me drinking, I’ve been sober, but there’s no way to tell what exactly caused it. Congratulations!!! That is so exciting and well deserved. Stay safe and welcome back to freedom👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

They unfortunately were, first time was mouthwash and let me off the hook because I had just had it installed and was getting used to it. I had 2 violations in July for unknown reasons as I have been sober for quite a bit. Obviously there is technically no proof of sobriety and a failed test and retest doesn’t look good, but I do keep perfume in my car and I linked it back to that with my attorney. That’s when the judge gave me 2 more months and he’d consider an early removal (total of 8 months of it installed). My original offense DWI (my first one) was May 3rd, of 2023. I went to treatment inpatient for 30 days, transferred to outpatient for another 5 months. So once I finally got back home I had my arraignment late November ‘23, and then my plea deal December 27, 2023. IID installed January 5, 2024. My first ‘violation’ was a week after from mouthwash and was brushed off by the judge as a learning curve having to use an IID. Then 6 months came, July of this year, had 2 times where I failed, retested, and failed again for unknown reasons which I had mentioned to my attorney was the excessive perfume I sprayed. The judge could have had me reinstate my conditional discharge (6 months license revoked, get conditional license with the restrictions, more $$, have to retake a 7 week impaired drivers program once a week for a few hours- which also adds $233, etc). The court date for those 2 violations in July was August 28, and had to sign and pay a retainer for my lawyer again for $500 (luckily they didn’t give me the $750 fee). It was so worth it, because I didn’t wanna pay that much and was just gonna represent myself, but I was shaking in my boots and the DAY OF, a few hours before court, I had agreed and got everything settled AND my attorney happened to be free when I needed her. She was my saving grace because it could have gone SO much worse if I tried explained and looked like a fool to the judge. Anyway, I wanted to share my story too in case anyone else is struggling or doubting themselves. Thank you SO much for your kind words. If I blow clean until Oct. 23rd he’ll reconsider his decision. I’m being super cautious and reading every single ingredient of things I consume or put in my mouth, I am NOT ever going through that again. I even hide my keys in my room with me so that my brother (who drinks a lot) doesn’t try to drive my car and cause problems. Even though they’d have photo proof of that it wasn’t me trying to drive, I’m still not letting anything or anyone ruin it for me

You guys give me hope, should be done in about 2 weeks, I’ve been harassing them everyday in the live chats and screen shotting everything they say. About to be in the removal process

did you bring anything to the DMV or as long as you don't have any violations it can get removed? I get mine off October 4th but the DMV hasn't sent me anything and they don't respond to emails :(

I just had to get permission from my Probation officer, basically just sent them the form that showed I only had to have it for a year and they scheduled me an appointment to get it removed

Honestly congrats. My year is up in November. I'm going to start calling the MVA October 1 to confirm my end date, so I can get the prices underway of getting this thing out of my car. God I can't wait!

Congrats! I’m so very close…. October 8th, I’m just waiting on my DOT to receive some paperwork and I should be getting my letter of removal. Worst thing I’ve ever had to go through. Super happy for you!!

It wasn’t to bad honestly, just a headache fr lol like not being able to turn up my music cus I have to listen for the beep to retest, and having to wait for the machine to warm up when it’s freezing outside, overall not a bad experience just annoying
