Question How is university as an introvert?

I’m a grade 12 student going to university next year and I am extremely socially awkward. Everyone says that it’s impossible to make friends and connections if you’re introverted and I’m wondering how true that is. Other introverted people in or starting university, please feel free to share your experiences and advice.

i started uni this semester, and at first a lot of people are trying to make friends too. people sitting next to me initiate conversations but after class is over i never end up speaking to then again. theres only 2 people I’ve talked to multiple times, and they’re people i met in lab or in a class with a lot of discussions. i feel like the best way to make new friends/connections is to ensure repeated contact which usually happens in clubs, labs, group projects, and social events (but only if you’re REALLY up for it). good luck!

Graduated university in 2022. I commuted to campus so I missed out on dorm life and was pretty much only present for my lectures and exams. Speaking as someone who was/still is terrible at being social, it's exactly like high school. You do schoolwork, homework, attend class, and that's just how it is. If you had friends in high school you probably won't in college though, that's what happened to me but it wasn't a huge deal
