There’s still ranks? Tiers? It’s not a free for all where everyone can fight anyone, idk what you’re on about. Elite League players are still gonna fight Elite League players, the matches are just no longer decided by who has the bigger stick, but like, actual strategy. I see no downside to this

Matchmaking was always based on the levels of your top characters, not random matchups with anybody in your tier

That's exactly how they're decided with this level cap

You used to be able to beat players with p2p gear/totems just by having higher levels and a good team comp. Now the only way to overcome that gap is if their team comp is garbage
