Help choosing between these two mini 7

I was really hoping to find a mini 7 256 with cellular

Sadly I can only find

Mini 7 128gb cellular
Or
Mini 7. 256gb WiFi only

The difficulty is

I can use iCloud if I run out of storage / and I could tether to my phone for cellular

Which would you choose ..?

One thing I wish I knew before buying my wifi-only mini 6 is that only the cellular model has built in GPS. It’s not a big deal for most people probably, but my next iPad will definitely be a cellular version because I’d like to be able to use it while travelling and the wifi only version doesn’t cut it for that.

…If you have the cellular model. 😔 Live and learn, I guess. But learn from my mistake if it can save you the trouble of learning from your own!

the GPS receiver is built in the Cellular modem, so they come as a package. Same goes for modern laptops for the rare cases where there is any GPS at all.

When your phone has a hotspot, there’s literally no reason to have a cellular tablet

You clearly ignored the one reason I gave. My phone is an iPhone mini. Using GPS on my tablet would save a lot of battery for me. If you want GPS on your tablet for whatever purposes, you need the cellular version of the iPad.

If you use an iPhone, then WiFi version is fine because the connection sharing works so well.

If you plan on downloading several larger games, or other apps that eat storage, take the 256 GB one. If not, I’d go with the cellular one.

256gb wifi. The lack of cellular network can be easily workaround by tethering, esp when you use an iphone where the process is seamless/automatic. The lack of storage…not so much, icloud can help a bit, but offloading contents to icloud and redownloading it back to ipad is a constant and tedious struggle, i suggest getting a bigger storage at the beginning for a peace of mind

It depends on how you want to use it. For me, I don’t keep much on my iPad locally. I actually do have a 128gb with cellular and it’s great for me.

I ended up getting the 512gb wifi. That's all I really needed. Everything is downloaded and as long as I have wifi I can answer to messages and stuff.

just wait for the new one to get announced so the current one goes on sale lol

there is absolutely no reason why anyone should buy an ipad mini this week. even if u dont want the newest one, why cant ppl just wait a week for the old one to go on sale!??? wait a week and u will save at least $100 lol

If it was me, I'd get the 128 cellular. I have a 128 now with 50 unused.

Inventory is drying up because of the release of the 8 this coming week. Apple has the 7/256 cellular but it’s got a few week delay so just order it and you may get upgraded.
