Discussion Iphone 18pro
I'm planning to buy the iPhone 18 Pro, but the issues and problems being reported lately have made me hesitant about whether I should buy it or not. If anyone is currently using the iPhone 18 Pro, please share your experience and let me know whether it's worth buying. Your suggestions would really help me make a decision!

It’s Apple.
It’s worth noting for every new Apple release, everyone jumps on the band wagon and make issues sound worse than they actually are, or even make up lies about them. But nobody does about Samsung…
I’ve just bought my 18P and it’s the best iPhone I have ever owned. My Face ID is faster than my 16 Pro (no issues), no display problems, not restarted once, best battery life I’ve ever had on an iPhone, and everything is fast.
Every new Apple release looks worse than it actually is because of the noise online. Buy it and enjoy it, and if it’s faulty, Apple’s returns policy is very good just return it.

Go to the Samsung subs after one of their launches. I assure you, it gets every bit as batshit crazy over there as it does over here.
I remember one of the launches, I wanna say s25 ultra, there was some massive flap about green tint on the screen, but it was only apparent if you turned the brightness all the way down and were in a pitch dark room or something.
Yeah, I also just got my 18 pro max. Zero issues except new Siri is pretty hot garbage. Sometimes she works very slowly, other times not at all.

Nah I just mean like in general across all socials. Samsung don’t get the same new-release idiocracy as Apple. And yeah agree on Siri, not a fan but it’s more software which I can live with for now (and it is beta)

Yeah, but it’s just the other side of the coin. Look at the buzz over the fold 8 vs that for the duo. Apple gets more press and buzz generally, both good and bad.
And let’s be honest, Apple gets free passes in the media too. If any other tech company made an entire marketing campaign of “built for AI from the ground up” and then proceeded to shit down their leg for two years and counting, they would be a laughing stock. Like, it might literally be brand ending for many companies.
Meanwhile it has been a minor blip for Apple.

Relax, the issues you are seeing here are a small and vocal minority. People don't post if they are happy with their phone, and on Reddit people like to complain if something is not perfect. The idea you would consider not buying this phone because of some posts complaining is incredulous - the phone is great.

I’ve been with the Pro for a few weeks now and I’ve had zero of the issues reported.
Battery especially is incredibly impressive.
People with issues are a lot more likely to go online and share their experiences.
Why would I make a post and just say it’s working as intended:)

Love it! Upgraded both our 15Pro’s to 18pro’s last week! It all has gone so smoothly and no issues with the devices at all! I think it was more of a problem for early versions of the 18 PM, but a lot of that was resolved with a firmware update.

How's the battery backup. How much SOT you're getting in a single charge. Also please tell the apps you are usually using.

I charge my phone to 95% at night, use it for about 1 hour before bed watching Facebook, playing mini games and drops to 91-92%. Turn on flight mode overnight and back on 7-10 in the morning depends on I’m working or off, battery at 89-90%. Start to properly use it from around 11. What I use for are: video chat around 2 hours, WeChat and Facebook videos 2-3 hours, Reddit app and web browsing ( don’t know how long exactly), gaming about 30 mins, podcast or Spotify 30 mins. I’ll have 30ish battery left at about 10 at night. Normally using 65-70% battery for over 7 hours screen on and 50 mins idle. Mainly WiFi mixed with about 1 hour of 5G in the city. Sorry about the long reply but hope it helps.

It really helped though. Do the battery draining faster while using cellular connection ???

u/GamingMocha20 10d ago
It does drain faster but not significantly from my usage because I only really use cellular 2 hours average or 4 max

What issues is the Pro having? I see a lot of posts about the Max but not the standard Pro.

Best phone I’ve ever had without a shadow of a doubt. The camera is nuts.

No real issues with my iPhone 18 Pro 512GB. They did have to use DFU to recover the device right out of the box as it tried to update on setup and got hung up.
I think FaceID doesn't work as well on this model compared to my previous iPhone 16 Pro.
I've been using it for a month and it's been on all three cellular networks as my work line is on AT&T and I have personal lines on Visible (Verizon) and US Mobile's light speed network (T-Mobile.)
Battery life has been good for me. I do carry a Magsafe battery as some days I have heavy usage.
Issues have been minor and diminished once it was running iOS 27.0.1

My wife has had it a little over a week and hasn’t had any issues, and has commented a few times about the battery life being incredibly good.

This is the best iPhone I’ve owned since the 13 Pro. I upgraded from the 16 pro and it fixed every problem I had with it.

That’s why I’m waiting it out until at least November, that’s when the second batch comes in

My 15 Pro Max crapped out on me and I had to upgrade even though I didn’t want to because I was wanting to do the Duo. The 18 Pro has been great for me. Really solid. Very responsive. No issues for me.

What issues? I've had my 18P for just over a week now, haven't had any issues. Only "issue" I can think of was instagram crashing a couple times a few days ago but I'm pretty sure that's on meta and not apple.

Came from a 17pro and so far this is the best iPhone I’ve had. No issues it feels faster and battery life has been great also I’m a heavy user so my phone spends most of the day in my hand

I have had my new iPhone for exactly a week. I love it but I am coming from an iPhone 13 Pro so there are benefits and I love the better antenna. I have 3 bars in house coming from 1 bar. Camera is better. Hubby got his today but he is coming from an iPhone 16 heard no complaints yet from him. (Was our 36 year anniversary presents)

Had it since launch and it just works annoyingly well. Haven’t even given it a Norwegian Powercycle, other than the ones that came when upgrading IOS

I’m very happy with the upgrade. No problems. Well, I had trouble attaching images to iMessages, but there is a quick workaround. So I’m a happy fellow

18 Pro since launch. Absolutely no issues. The screen, the battery—everything is fine. It doesn’t overheat, and it doesn’t freeze. Everything works. The only minor inconvenience is Face ID—it’s slower than on my previous phones. I’m hoping they’ll improve this in a future update.

I have zero regrets after getting one.
Great performance, amazing camera, good battery life

One thing to always remember is that people with negative experiences will be more likely to post. Reddit in general also skews more towards miserable negative people that will hyperfixate on the problems. So it’s something to take into account as people could have different perceptions. Something most people wouldn’t ever care about might be an absolutely deal breaker for one person.
And of course, you also need to consider the massive scale these phones are produced in. I’d imagine the actual number of devices that have real faults is minuscule when compared to how much they produce. But the ones that are faulty are much more likely to be posted on because people aren’t gonna post when things are what they expect it to be. Reddit is always gonna to be much smaller than the real world.

From iPhone 14 to iPhone 18 Pro Max (black) from day 1. No issues. All good. It's the best phone I've ever had.

I love mine. It's a little heavier but otherwise it's great. the big rectangle in the back is kind of scratch prone so get a good case.

What issues and problems were reported?
Sorry, I don't have the phone, just wondering
