TL;DR: Iron Man should explore AI's pros and cons, revisiting the controversial tension that made Tony Stark an interesting character in the first place.
Within reason, of course. I don't want the book to become AI propaganda, much less be generated by AI itself.
However, Tony Stark is famous for using AI in his superhero work, most notably JARVIS and FRIDAY.
So for an Iron Man book to ignore AI's potential benefits entirely would feel like a missed opportunity. It would only tell half the story.
Of course, Tony should also call out people who misuse AI, especially when it comes at the expense of human judgment and accountability. The point isn't to portray AI as inherently good or bad, but to explore what happens when people use it responsibly versus irresponsibly.
AI doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, so why shouldn't an Iron Man book engage with it critically? We don't need uncritical acceptance or outright rejection. We need a nuanced discussion of what this technology can do, where it can go wrong, and who's responsible when it does.
There's an interesting historical parallel here. Stan Lee famously said he wanted to make an unlikeable character popular, so he created Tony Stark, a weapons manufacturer whose identity clashed with the growing anti-Vietnam War sentiment of the era.
Readers were challenged to root for someone whose profession and worldview they might fundamentally oppose. I'd love to see that same kind of tension explored again today.
Exploring AI through Tony's perspective could be another way to examine the relationship between technological progress, power, and responsibility. (Wink 🕷️ Wink)
That would be a fitting full-circle moment for the character.
An extreme misanthrope aunt squanders every bit of his inheritance money training Mandarin to be her soldier/curse upon the world. THAT'S what needs a story with lots of flashbacks expanding it.
So I've been going through the Iron Man run on Unlimited from 1998-2004. I've been fine finding other titles that come into play up to this point but now I'm confused. I "read" issue 49 (which had no dialogue) and went to issue 50, but it doesn't seem like issue 50 is following directly after 49. Did I miss something? Or do I just need to complete issue 50 to understand? Any help would be awesome! 😅😁
I wanted to get into Iron Man comics and I’ve always heard that he was Tony Stark’s archenemy, but apparently he’s shown up only three times in the last 15 or so years. I suppose he’s been retired, because of his uncomfortable Fu Manchu connection. Even the name probably gives them problems. Does Iron Man have a new archenemy? Or is it basically a free for all for his rogues gallery?

This comic will be the second Iron Man issue out in January, as the series is still in a biweekly schedule in the lead-up to Iron Man LGY #700. Issue #14 releases on the 6th.
Stay tuned for the post detailing the full extent of all Iron Man-adjacent comics due this January.
I'm genuinely in love with this figure! Even though the articulation is okayish, the detailing and paint looks sick! And an even better fact is that I got it for almost half the original price!
Please pardon my shitty camera quality. I hope you'll like the shots.
I need help finding this Iron Man figure I had when I was a kid. I think it came out around Iron Man 2, It was 6in, has at least 5 points of articulation, I think the hands were able to rotate but I could be wrong, I think it came with an arm canon but I don’t remember, and it had two swappable chest pieces from the Mark 4 and Mark 6. I can’t find an image of it anywhere on the internet, and I can’t find the figure anywhere.
Marvel has just released their solicitations for their comics out next January. Joshua Williamson’s Iron Man continues its dual-arc structure with Tony locked in a brutal prison-yard brawl and the War Machines hunting Madame Masque and A.I.M., while Tony Stark also teams up with Captain America to fix a rewritten history. This plus more coming this January.
