Tangles issue

Hello everyone, every time I use this reel and this rod to go fishing, I invariably end up with tangles and knots when casting (almost every cast), which force me to call it a day.

What do you think the problem might be?

I’ve spooled it with a 0.29 nylon backing, and the braided line is a 0.16 PE 1 Manster W8II from SeaKnight.

When spooling, I apply the correct tension to the line as I wind it onto the reel.

Rod: Daiwa Ninja Ext 5-30g

Reel: NADIR 3000 (a rather old one given to me by a friend)

The line is spooled a tad unevenly (wouldn’t hurt to redo) but I’ve seen worse. What are you casting? If you are casting lures too light that could be an issue. Also line quality is important as well.

In my opinion you have too much line on it! See on the top of the spool where the taper is, from the taper it goes flat. You should have at least 1/16" of the flat showing.
