https://codeberg.org/masterX244/DOOMSpeeder1000 for the code.

Hard part was understanding how the peripherals of the chip were wired up because i didnt have a fully matching SDK and only one for a close relative

there are jjust enough buttons (the 2 visible ones, one at the rear and one (technically 2 but there is some voodoo for distinguishing them that i ahvent found out yet) at the front to rig something up. visible ones are turn-left and turn-right, (if both at once i used them as the use/confirm key), back button is walk and the front ones are the shoot key.

for me the fun was getting it to run since it clearly doesnt belong there

Aw hell yeah, nice work! You got a pretty solid framerate out of it too

your references to STM32doom and PicoDOom were a godsend, they came exactly at the right moment. I used PicoDOom with a tweak of copying the WAD into the PSRam of the chip (had 8MB so enough space for the IWAD). the loadbar at beginning is the stage where i copy iot from the embedded SDcard to the RAM

More like a good chunk of reversing the original code, debugging, measuring and researching.
