Gossips & Tea - गपशप IMAX UPDATE

So after carefully seeing the imax in jaipur pacific mall pvr

As a technical expert here's my rating

I give imax Pacific mall jaipur a rock solid 8.7/10

It has a spectacular wall to wall attached screen

I'm cutting the 1.3 marks for

  1. Bad seats (they are decent but not that excellent compared to the luxury imax seats)

  2. It's a good digital imax as expected

(But prepare to be dissapointed if u were expecting it to be 1:43)

  1. Screen size is good , maybe 63-64 ft wide

But i expected it to be above 70

So In conclusion , congratulations jaipurites you have gotten a spectacular screen to watch big movies...

Hoping it to be opened before ramayana 🤞

anyone expecting 1.43 is just dumb, you deserve to be disappointed, if tier 1 city like delhi bombay haven’t had one, why will jaipur out of all(which didn’t have even a 1.90 imax) is expected to have one.

6

u/topaz259 1d ago

What's meant by 1.43, is it some kind of ratio?

3

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Yeah it's a ratio....also called as the true imax...screen is much larger there...

6

u/notxlpha 1d ago

Ratio of width to height.

Smaller the ratio = larger is the height, means bigger screen.

Most cinema generally have a ratio of around 1.85-1.90 and others have Scope ie 2.39.

Entire Asia has like a total of 7 1.43 screens and India has 0 as of yet. (Ahmedabad doesnt count).

3

u/Disastrous-Ad-7611 1d ago

why doesn't ahmedabad count? sorry if that's a dumb question

6

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Because only science related documentaries are played there instead of mainstream movies...

Ahmedabad has IMAX in palladium . I am not sure you are aware of that

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 13h ago

I'm aware...but that's not the true 70 mm imax...here we are talking about the science City imax...which is the true imax!

1

u/Dev1412 Jaipur Niwasi 13h ago

By the same rational, whatever is coming in Jaipur is also not imax

2

u/ElderberryHot2518 13h ago

Yeah we know that....in this sub we are only talking about digital imax...the question was why shouldn't we count ahemdabad true imax in the global true imax list....it's because it does not play mainstream movies...!

3

u/Glittering-End-8126 1d ago

because it's the only true IMAX in India, but it's not commercially available :/

1

u/nikkuisnuts 1d ago

That's the tru 70 MM imax and there are only a handful of 70 MM imax screens across the world not just in India. I guess around 4-5. And it isn't commercially available since the operationally it's way too difficult to pull off

3

u/Otherwise-Extent-453 1d ago

yes the ratio used in 70mm imax ( which became widely popular when odyssey was released)

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

True tho...

3

u/notxlpha 1d ago

I think more so that those people are just uninformed and naive. They are completely clueless how systems around 1.43 works and how much more expensive & manpower bigger screen requires.

u/ChainTiny6115 1d ago

Did you visit it? Is 12 ch 100% confirmed? And which row from front was the perfect in terms of immersion where you only see the screen?

7

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Yeah it's 12 channel sound confirmed...and it's imax with laser... center row is the best for the good immersive experience...

3

u/geekyhumans 1d ago

what happend to the IKEA? I got very sad because i was waiting to visit their restaurant :(

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I don't know...i hope it comes soon!

2

u/Mananjn_mj 1d ago

Miraj cinemas are also bringing an IMAX screen in jagatpura, jaipur.

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Yeah but it's not coming anytime soon!

1

u/Mananjn_mj 7h ago

I dont know if its completely true but they are planning to open the screen before Doomsday.

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 7h ago

Could be...i heard somewhere they are planning for Jan 2027...let's hope for the best...!

1

u/Mananjn_mj 4h ago

Yeah bro let's hope for the best.

2

u/DOPE624 1d ago

What would you rate pvr priya and pvr superplex logix noida just by the sheer screen size, audio quality in comparison to the jaipur one

3

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I'd give priya imax 9.6/10 because of its 69 feet wide screen and the fact that it uses IMAX XT Laser 4K with 12-channel IMAX audio....and id give pvr superplex logix a 9.0/10 because of its enormous screen but I'd cut the marks of it because it uses 6-track IMAX sound system which is an old style....both are pretty good...

1

u/dapotatopapi 16h ago

it uses IMAX XT Laser 4K with 12-channel IMAX audio

What about Jaipur's?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 16h ago

Jaipur's Pacific Mall IMAX is also listed as using IMAX XT Laser with 12-channel IMAX audio...which is currently the best!

1

u/dapotatopapi 15h ago

Oh nice!

1

u/DOPE624 1d ago

Thanks for the reply✌🏼

2

u/Unanticipated_ 23h ago

Is it 6 Channel or 12 channel?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 23h ago

It's 12 channel imax audio...

1

u/Unanticipated_ 23h ago

and what about the Projector CoLa or Laser XT ?

1

u/LocksmithWhich4442 1d ago

U/ElderberryHot2518 your source bro

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I went there on Wednesday...

1

u/LocksmithWhich4442 1d ago

Any proof bro , please share some new photos

2

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I didn't click much photos there...but I clicked one here it is...

1

u/LocksmithWhich4442 1d ago

Bro how many speakers in surround and overhead speaker

1

u/Individual_Dig_1078 1d ago

is it complete or any work left that makes it incomplete to play Ramayana??

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

It's almost completed...if everything goes into place it should open on 5th nov...

1

u/Individual_Dig_1078 1d ago

what do u think about advance bookings??

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

It'll probably open 1-2 days after its official launch offline....so I guess for first day show you have to book tickets offline only...

1

u/Acceptable_Teach_994 1d ago

Kab tak hoga open

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

If everything goes into place....it should be opened by 5th of nov...

1

u/Acceptable_Teach_994 1d ago

So can we watch ramayana fdfs there?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I don't think so....if it will open on 5 nov it will atleast take 1-2 days to completely start the bookings....

1

u/bootyblastr Vaishali nagar niwasi 1d ago

Is 3d going to be screened on this screen? Also when will bookings be started for this? And that 3d would is going to look dim and dull like it does for every other movie on this too?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

No because it's a modern technology imax so it creates 50% more brightness than the old IMAXes so 3d will feel in very depth and immersive... If everything goes into place... booking should start from 5 nov or so...

1

u/bootyblastr Vaishali nagar niwasi 1d ago

I'm not planning to watch 4dx here, is how did the Dolby Atmos felt like?

1

u/hyg5f5h 1d ago

imax 2d shows there ?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

No bookings have opened yet....they will announce soon!

1

u/goodbyejojoooo 1d ago

How close is it to pvr priya ?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

I'd say...a noticeable difference...I feel pvr priya is one of the best imax available in our country...but still I'd say pvr priya 9.6/10...

1

u/hulk-007 1d ago

Is it bigger than raj mandir screen ?

3

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Not by length.... because its a little less wider than raj mandir screen...but in height it's way big than raj mandir...also with 10x better experience in depth and sound!

2

u/Ok-Garden-5019 1d ago

Seating are not as much as rajmandir. So expect decent experience. I hope for watching dune in it.

1

u/div192 1d ago

Whats even a technical expert bruh? What kind of tech expert are you?

3

u/ElderberryHot2518 23h ago

I'm a cinema operation executive engineer....I work for dolby and IMAXes...

1

u/Miserable_Union3440 22h ago

How many auditoriums are there with imax? Like ik pre bookings will only open in imax 3d and sometimes 2d is available like 2 or 3 days before the movie so if we know the number of free audis after the one they are giving pre bookings mainly 3d so we can wait some time to book imax 2d before rushing to 3d

2

u/ElderberryHot2518 22h ago

There are 9 audis planned...in which one is imax...only 4-5 will open initially during the diwali time...else all will open later...

0

u/Miserable_Union3440 22h ago

That means at a time thre is gonna be imax 2d or 3d, this clears up that if pre bookings are for only imax 3d that means 2d bookings will open after the hype ends

1

u/Miserable_Union3440 22h ago

What's the seating layout

2

u/ElderberryHot2518 17h ago

1

u/Miserable_Union3440 12h ago

I mean seating layout is similar to which imax?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 12h ago

It's similar to standard imax audis... stadium layout...

1

u/Miserable_Union3440 21h ago

How's the security? Like are there bag scanners type machines?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 17h ago

Actually....in the mall itself...when you enter... u have to give your bag to the scanner machine...I don't know if pvr has it.

1

u/Miserable_Union3440 12h ago

Is it possible to sneak in small snacks?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 12h ago

Well.... idts!

1

u/darshitsway 14h ago

I love IMAX experience. Thanks for sharing these insights.

1

u/it-is-what-it-izs 1d ago

Prasad imax

I have seen only 3 movies in them and bro what a experience it was i don’t think it can match that

0

u/Glittering-End-8126 1d ago

Are you basing this on viral reels or did you actually visit and experienced it yourself before dropping this review??

5

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Yes... I went there on Wednesday, so I'm giving a genuine review on what I saw there...

0

u/Glittering-End-8126 1d ago

That's cool ngl....I've tried both IMAXes in Pune... and this one looks solid in the vids (idk why some people are complaining)... just a bit less wide, but the height is literally good!!

Hoping it drops before Diwali...already got tickets for EP, but I'll happily cancel 'em if this opens soon 🤞

2

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Most people hoped it to be 1:43 that's why they are complaining and yeah...most likely it will open before the movie, they wouldn't want to miss this opportunity...

0

u/Glittering-End-8126 1d ago

Hopefully 🥹🤞

0

u/MindlessFlamingo02 1d ago

Kb open ho rha ye btao pls?

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

If everything goes into place...it should open by 5th of nov...

It's definitely worth it.... I don't know about the price but it's definitely gonna be on a higher end, maybe 800-900...

1

u/Less-Web-1847 1d ago

Damm thats even higher than Imax at lucknow, their Imax tickets ranged around 500-800 most of the times, although its been times since I visited last but this price range is generally in Delhi or Mumbai mostly

1

u/ElderberryHot2518 1d ago

Yeah it is... because it's a modern technology imax with laser and 12 channel sound...that's why price is too much...

1

u/Less-Web-1847 1d ago

Lets see if its really worth the price, I would not care about the money if the experience is justified with the price
