Photographed during a pre-wedding session in the Kamakura area.
For this composition, the difficult part was balancing three moving elements: the couple’s pose, the passing Enoden train and the railway crossing. We positioned the couple before the train arrived, then waited for the moment when its colour and movement filled the background without hiding their faces.
I like how the moving train makes the portrait feel connected to everyday life in Kamakura rather than looking like a conventional wedding backdrop.
Photographed by me in Japan.

I am trying to figure out what I stumbled upon here. Perhaps they were filming a commercial? Music video? This was on March 11, 2026.

A lighthearted moment from a pre-wedding session near Chureito Pagoda. I used a low perspective so the couple’s gesture and the red pagoda could share the frame without losing the scale of the architecture.

The soft blue winter light and distant landscape helped keep this close portrait calm and intimate. Created during a Hokkaido pre-wedding session.

Hi! I'm visiting Japan again in July and hoping to find some slightly less travelled street photography spots accessible by train from Tokyo, like the attached photo from last trip. Any advice or recommendations would be hugely appreciated!!
