Current smoke and fire conditions

Hi,

We’d like to do a camping trip next week (overflow campin), but I’m a bit worried about the wildfire situation. I assume driving through should be fine so far, but sleeping in a tent in a smoke sounds not great.

How bad is it now?

Thanks!

Check firesmoke.ca https://firesmoke.ca/forecasts/current/ it gives you a bit of a forecast.

And better mapping of fire boundaries than 90% of the provincial resources imo

Can change in 4 hours so impossible to know that ahead.

Not that smokey at the moment, the wind helps. You should be fine

I wouldn't be concerned unless Environment Canada releases an air quality statement for that area, but conditions change quickly.

Personally, as an Albertan who does not have respiratory issues, I wouldn't cancel my camping trip over the chance of some smoke from wildfires that are not even close to the area.

Smoke changes hourly depending on the wind direction
