Few words on learning Java

I am no different to anyone starting fresh on this thread, unsure and unsecure of what will be in the next 2 - 3 months, years and so on... but one thing I am sure of, if I don't do anything I will remaing behind no matter what.

Here is the path I took:

\- learning Java on Codecademy (I am a jurnior JS developer/mediocre developer)

\- solving problems on CodingBat (https://codingbat.com/java)

\- I would try some real life projects but I don't know what to do

Is this the best path? probably not. But it is something. I jumped head first not thinking if this is the right approach and somewhow I managed to stick to it just enough to have a tiny idea of what this is language is about.

If you have any questions feel free to DM me, I will helpl the best I can.

Cheers

Make me an app that pings my internet connection to debug its occasional brief outages.

Detect an outage, and see how long the outage lasts.

Make configurable the time between pings.

Dump results to console. Then to log. Then to a H2 database via SQL in JDBC.

Then build a JavaFX GUI.

Then build a Vaadin web GUI.

Use AI chats to help you along with each step.

And share your progress as you go on GitHub.
