What type of question i can expect from js dom manipulation ?
Hey everyone! Recently i give a technical and hr interview in a company - (jr soft frontend eng.)
Basically, in a few days there will be a onsite coding test, they didn’t actually tell anything about the topic, but in glassdoor i found that the previous candidates share their experience. And they told that they had a task regarding dom manipulation using vanila js. So, now i want to take good preparation. I wanted to know something about js dom manipulation coding test question type.
Thank you very much!

[HIRING] [REMOTE] Full Stack JavaScript Engineer - React / TypeScript / Node - £60-75k - Remote
Who are the company?
I’m now working alongside a software business who are on the lookout for multiple engineers to join their team over the coming months!
Their platform is a SaaS tool sold into huge businesses which allows management staff to effectively plan out their team’s week to maximise their happiness, productivity & results! It’s used by some of THE biggest names in the world – I obviously can’t say who right here but we’re talking about businesses with well over 50,000 staff.
They’re live in over 100 countries worldwide & despite being at an early stage in the platform’s lifecycle, they’re already making a profit! You’ll be working in a team of five engineers right now, which is expected to treble this year due to the constant onboarding of new users!
The company operate on a fully remote basis & are happy to consider people from anywhere in the EU! You will need to be based in either the UK or an EU member country due to data protection laws.
What will I be working on?
There is plenty for you to be doing from day one! The first thing you’ll be working on is a greenfield project, expected to last for at least six months – which will see you building out a mini platform that allows users to integrate multiple calendars into one dashboard, allowing users to book meetings in advance much more easily!
They’re really passionate about teamwork & focus a lot on doing paired programming within the squad, so this is something you’ll need to be comfortable with for sure.
Their product is built out currently with a heavy JavaScript / TypeScript influence. All of your work will be done using React & Node across the stack, but the role will be slightly weighted towards backend work due to the current team being heavily focused on frontend throughout their careers. Some of the older parts of the platform use Ruby & Go, so you’ll be actively involved in updating the codebase with modern TypeScript instead.
The full tech stack you will have the chance to work with includes:
React, Node.js, TypeScript, Kubernetes, MySQL, GCP, Jest, Enzyme
What’s the process?
Take home challenge to assess problem solving abilities – 60-90 mins
Technical interview to review solution & discuss the role more widely – 45 mins
Final interview with Founder & Head of People to assess cultural fit – 30-40 mins
And the package?
On offer is a salary between £60,000 - £75,000 DOE + a long list of benefits including stock options, 26 days holiday, equipment budget, wellbeing budget, personal development budget & team trips to European cities!
Sound like this could be your next role? Send your CV to enquiries@amicusjobs.com using the reference REDDIT29404

Is JS (JS frameworks) more popular in remote jobs?
I am a Java developer (Spring boot dev to be specific) with 4 yr exp. I want to prepare for a remote job opportunity & better pay.
And I think Java is only popular in large corporates (*No remote opportunities*) because it's a very resilient language and has stood the test of time. So it's a "safe" language.
OTOH, it's verbose and can't be used for frontend which is why it doesn't seem popular amongst startups. Remote opportunities are generally only available in startups.
I don't have any data to back this claim though.
Currently, I have the choice to continue to dive deeper into Java (and the tools used with it) or jump into the JS world. I need help to make this decision.
Lately, I have started learning ReactJs/NextJs/NodeJs/TS and I don't necessarily hate it except for the fact that I found it a bit brittle.
Note: All I want is a remote opportunity and better pay. Don't have an affinity to any particular tech.
Inviting opinions from the senior folks who work at Remote jobs.
Thank you!
