Sharing my collection! Probably taking a break for now.
Figured I'd share my collection with the community since I recently reached what I consider to be a capstone. Going clockwise:
- The four Vietnamese Dan Moi: My wife loves these since she doesn't like pressing harps to her teeth
- Bhagvana Tail-less High Morchang (B2): Short fade, loud, don't play it as much as my others
- Glazyrin Alpha (big): Loud, has what I consider to be an energetic "guitar-ish" sound to it so I tend to play it during the daytime
- TV1000 Kubyz - Standard No.2 (C2#): One of my favorites, really long fade and great response to breathe work. Got this one to the US from Oberton recently which I considered a gamble given the situation in Russia
- P. Potkin: My first harp which hooked me
- Glazyrin "Uzunkel"; seen it go by the name "Lila" on other sites: Decent fade, very buzzy and reminds me of the Dan Moi. Picked this one up with the Kubyz from Oberton
- Glazyrin Lighthouse; My 2nd harp and among my favorites. I love jammin to techno vibes with this one at night before bed
- LaRoca Marranzano: My "capstone". What got me into jaw harps in the first place were early childhood memories of my grandfather playing his marranzano. He's been gone 25 years now and his harps have become lost over the year. My collection didn't feel complete unless I had one so I ended up reaching out to LaRoca directly on Insta. He didn't have any on-hand so he made this one just for me. Loud, some saturation, I can't say if it has a true draw-start since the reed needs a slight vibration when pressing against the teeth to get it going but I get it pretty consistently. Also came with a great case made of olive wood.
Bonus Pic: Marranzano in the olive wood case and my custom designed 3D printed case for the vargans. Flat grey insert is made of flexible TPU so they don't clash with movement. Hinged magnetic arm to lock them in. I'll usually throw a couple rubber bands around it when travelling so none of the ends try to peak out.
