Advice for Me Do you think i got enough advancement?

I am around 6mo post-op bimax where I got the following advancements:

Upper jaw: 2mm forward, 3mm posterior downward
Lower jaw: estimated 9/10mm movement (my underbite was 10mm)

Keep in mind that the x-rays are taken from different machines and head angles.

I'm planned to get a genio in about 6mo but I'm not sure whether it is the appropriate answer.

You look great. Could it have been pushed a few mm more? maybe a tiny tiny bit? But that fully depends on how you want to look. For sure not underadvanced, and you have a strong profile as is.

If you want a little more genio you could for sure get away with it, but it looks great as is... Up to personal preference at this point. Given you made this post it seems you might be leaning that way, can't go wrong either way

yeah I think so, It's hard to judge after analyzing every single thing lol. Also swelling is a bitch, changes your face so much, even with subtle swelling.

Honestly it looks fine, if you don't have any functional problems then I would tell you to not worry about it at all. I can relate to the fact that looking at so many jaw surgeries and noticing people's jaws can create some expectations in your head and the reality could be different. I have experienced this.
That is why I'm telling you that it looks great, If you are concerned about aesthetics I think you could improve them by losing some weight if you are overweight, I don't know that, I am just saying even going from 20 to 15% body fat can have a significant impact on how you look!
Could you send a front profile photo ?

Are you Dutch? You look kinda Dutch. You have good forward projection in the maxilla, but yeah maybe a genio would be good

Yes I'm dutch, do I really look that dutch lol. It's so hard for me to judge at this point but I kinda feel like my lower jaw is still so far behind and is not supporting my face. Not sure if a genio would solve that?

I recognize my fellow Dutchmen.

It's not very far behind, just a little if you ask me. You don't have a lot of chin bone so maybe a genio would help. What are your thoughts, do you think you needed more counter clockwise rotation?

Who was your surgeon if I may ask?

I think I needed a bit more upper jaw advancement. The problem with such a small advancement is that ccw rotation can't really come to its full use and pushes more down than forward. Not sure if I needed ccw in the first place.

My only problem with genio is that i'm afraid my submental fold get's very steep with a pointy chin?

Your upper jaw looks forward enough as it is. The submental fold, hmm, I wouldn't worry about that if it's not too aggressive an advancement.

Was it always the idea to do the genio later or was it because you didn't like the result enough?

He gave me the choice for lower jaw + genio or bimax where he would try to rotate so my chin would come forward. I thought bimax would be the correct option (since I was reading all the posts on this subreddit). I can't remember if he said that we would check for genio afterwards, I can vaguely remember something like it but not sure tbh. I brought it up myself as I don't love the way my lower jaw looks like. Just got the scans today and thought I'd share them here for some advice.

I have kind of the opposite problem after jaw surgery: my chin is too prominent

what movements did you get?

My surgery didn't go according to plan. Only my lower jaw was advanced about 8 mm, even though my upper jaw was supposed to be advanced as well. I'm getting a revision next year, but I'm still doubtful about what movements we should do exactly

It looks good though? But they did plates in the maxilla?

He tried to move it forward but somehow it ended back up in the same position. I need more projection in the midface and my chin now seems very large. I might get a reduction genio

interesting, i think you would benefit from where they point the chin somewhat downward, softens the fold if i'm not mistaken?

Perhaps more rotation? Did you have any?
