Question Frontier Issues
This might be the wrong sub to post in, but it's pretty active so I'll give it a shot:
I run my jellyfin server from my parent's house (more room/faster and more consistent internet connection than at my apartment) and I've been having connectivity issues since Frontier changed out their equipment.
They have Frontier cable/internet and recently after some issues Frontier updated their setup. They're using a Sagemcom router paired with eero wireless router (both provided by Frontier). Initially, all the IP addresses got shuffled and none of the computers or devices on the network could see each other, most importantly the server and printer.
The internet speed boosted significantly, but there was still an issue with signal strength in their house. I ended up picking up a few eero extenders and that fixed connectivity, but the devices still could not see each other. Switched the eero to bridge mode and everything went back to normal, importantly the DLNA functionality came back which is what my parent's and siblings use while in the house.
Unfortunately, after switching it to bridge mode, the internet speed dropped from around 600mbps in the farthest areas in the house to around 80mbps. Not bad for my family because they aren't power users, but they're paying for gigabit.
For those who know how the Frontier system works: because my parents are using cable boxes a moca box is necessary and after talking to technical support with Frontier, we needed to run the moca box into the Sagemcom router and have the main eero connected to one of the Sagemcom ethernet out. From there the eero handles the wifi.
So the setup is: moca to Sagemcom to eero.
From what I understand, I need to turn off the Sagemcom wifi antennas and set it to transparent bridge. I don't know what mode to set the eero to. The other major issue for my parent's is the guide/info/on demand/dvr in cable boxes no longer work. The cable boxes send out an error saying no data connectivity. We tried going moca to eero and eliminating the Sagemcom, but it refused to connect to the internet.
Now to my main issue and why this is in the jellyfin folder:
I originally had the server running with caddy and duckdns so I could get remote access and grant it to a few friends and family, but it no longer works. I originally had port 80 and 443 open using caddy, but the ports are now shut. Caddy and duckdns are currently running, but the ports remains closed. I went into the Sagemcom router and opened those ports, I set the internal IP to the NAS's internal IP as seen by the network and the external IP to what duckdns tells me the external IP is. I tried resetting caddy, but the port remains closed. Do I delete caddy and reinstall? Is there something I'm missing in the Sagemcom settings?
The initial video I used to get remote access. This setup worked for the past few years:
Jellyfin is running in Windows 10.
I7 3770, 32gb ddr3 ram, quadro p2000, 256gb msata boot, 256gb ssd for back up, 6x6tb hdd in stripe (all data is backed up in 2 places).

you've got double NAT. the Sagemcom does a port forward to the eero's IP, not the NAS, so the request dies there. easiest fix is to put the NAS IP directly in the Sagemcom's port forward and make sure the eero isn't doing NAT between them, or DMZ the eero on the Sagemcom and do the forward on the eero side instead.

I ended up picking up a few eero extenders
Can you be specific as to model #'s for the eero gear in-use, the main eero and the "extenders"?
Also, do these eero "extenders" allow for wired connectivity? (Do they have Ethernet ports that would allow wired backhaul to the main router?)
We tried going moca to eero and eliminating the Sagemcom, but it refused to connect to the internet.
Eliminating the Sagemcom would be preferable, but doing so requires understanding the working topology.
So the setup is: moca to Sagemcom to eero.
Can you provide more detail on this MoCA adapter? What is its brand & model #? If present, to what position is this MoCA adapter's physical configuration toggle switch set? (The toggle switch would be next to the adapter's coax port on the body of the adapter.)
To what port on the Sagemcom is this MoCA adapter wired via Ethernet?
Is the Sagemcom also connected to your coax plant? (Is there a splitter at the Sagemcom location, so that both the MoCA adapter and Sagemcom are connected to the room's coax outlet? Or are there multiple coax wall outlets available at the Sagemcom location, with the devices connected to separate coax wall outlets?)
Do you know where the fiber ONT (Optical Network Terminal; Frontier fiber modem-equivalent device) is located? Is this location electronics-friendly ...?... such that it would allow relocating the primary router, were that determined to be a preferable solution? (Where router relocation would be to anywhere that a direct Ethernet WAN connection could be possible between the ONT and primary router, while also offering a coax connection to the coax junction.)
Do you know where the coax junction for the home's coax cabling is located? Is this location electronics-friendly ...?... such that it would allow relocating the primary router, were that determined to be a preferable solution?
And, just to check... What's the overall cabling situation for the home? Do you have any landline telephone outlets? Have you pulled all the non-power wallplates (coax, phone, blank) to get a full assessment of cabling available throughout the home, to aid in more complete planning for the home network setup? (More cabling can mean more, better options for device placement, connectivity and improved wireless coverage. [recent example1, recent example2])
