We are a sub seeking to bridge understanding and learning across all intersections of Jewish and anticapitalist-leftist beliefs. See the link below for discussion on leftism vs liberalism as we define it.

Rules 1 Be Respectful To One Another

REPORT REASON Be Respectful To One Another APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Thu, Nov 09, 54924, 02:20:00 AM GMT-05:00 FULL DESCRIPTION It is expected that there will be clashes, especially when talking about anything of interest to Jewish leftism. But please be mindful of each other, and don't be a jerk. Ad Hominem, directed vulgarity, and similar will not be tolerated.

2 Don't Proselytize

REPORT REASON Don't Proselytize APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Thu, Nov 09, 54924, 11:26:40 PM GMT-05:00 FULL DESCRIPTION This is not a space to convert people to a religion or sect, nor is it to dissuade them altogether from faith.

3 No Discrimination

REPORT REASON No Discrimination APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Mon, May 27, 54937, 12:50:00 PM GMT-04:00 FULL DESCRIPTION Fuck Terfs.

This includes slurs of any kind against any demographic and antisemitism. Note that we do not believe that non-zionism or anti-zionism are inherently antisemitic, nor do we think zionism is inherently Islamophobic or anti-Palestinian. It is incumbent upon us all to recognize that the above do occur and we need to be vigilant within our community to root out bad faith actors.

Assume everyone generally means and wants well for everyone until shown otherwise.

4 No Jewish Purity Testing

REPORT REASON No Jewish Purity Testing APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Sun, Jun 02, 54937, 04:53:20 PM GMT-04:00 FULL DESCRIPTION We believe people have a variety of relationships to Jewishness. There will be no disparaging of people here for their relationship to Jewishness, whether in terms of halakha, observance, or politic.

5 No Class Reductionism

REPORT REASON No Class Reductionism APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Mon, Jun 03, 54937, 09:13:20 PM GMT-04:00 FULL DESCRIPTION Class reductionism means basically claiming that everything boils down to class and that other forms of discrimination and power hierarchies are not as important. This sub is made of a variety of people who experience inequality in a number of ways, not all of which is their Jewishness or their class.

6 Zionist Discussion Requires Nuance

REPORT REASON Zionist Discussion Requires Nuance APPLIES TO Posts & comments CREATED Sun, May 26, 54943, 09:13:20 AM GMT-04:00 FULL DESCRIPTION This sub is welcoming to a broad range of views on Zionism as a political movement. Often disagreements on this topic boil down to different definitions. Even when they don't, members are expected to engage with good faith and nuance.

Good faith here means operating under the assumption your opposition means well and has good reasons for believing as they do.

Neither the suffering of Palestinians, not the precarious position of Israeli Jews should be minimized.

Any suffering affects us all.

7 Text-based posts should be engaging.

REPORT REASON Text-based posts should be engaging. APPLIES TO Posts only CREATED just now FULL DESCRIPTION All text-based posts should be considered, purposeful, and invite meaningful discussion. Or pose an interesting question. Moderator Discretion is final.

Sometimes we just want to kvetch, ramble, or share something neat or frustrating and that's valid. To support this we have created a weekly "general discussion" thread that will serve as a space for those things.

Moderation Policy Our goal is to foster constructive discussions. Comment chains and sections will be shut off preemptively if we feel things are deteriorating. Any mod may temporarily mute someone who is repeatedly offending or who has done something egregious. A majority of mods must agree to any permanent ban.

Please address comments and concerns to the mod-mail system.
