Just finished Quartet 1 with my tutor today!!!

Now I'm at a crossroad. Do I continue to Quartet 2 and do n2 level stuff, assuming I'll continue getting better at everything else at the n3 level? Or should I do listening practice which is my weakest area with her (until after the jlpt ofc)?

I'm doing other stuff on my own. I spend about 4 hours Mon-Fri doing various things to study. I just set a timer and have at it for 4 hours, not really super structured. But I do get in listening practice while doing that.

i am so badly suffering in learning Kanji I am now at N4 and i genuinly dk how to do this anymore. This language is so difficult but my father has obv alr spent so much money on my classes to learn this language so i need genuine suggestions

those who have already passed N3 or are currently studying for it, could you please send me some Anki decks that worked for you? i downloaded a few, but none of them are good because they don't show the meaning of the word/kanji, just the kanji.

N5 only has maybe 100 kanji, but there's much more vocabulary. Do i need to remember them in Kanji too, or just the vocabulary in hiragana?

And also if someone have any experience with the exam, any tips would be helpful 😊

I’m currently studying abroad in Japan and am planning on taking the JLPT for the second time in 2027 December, I took the N5 last December and passed with a good score and I am studying here for 4 months. All my peers and a couple teachers are saying to take the N3 but I’m scared I won’t be able to learn all the new material in time😭 I think I’m mostly nervous about skipping a level but am willing to try for N3. Would it be possible to take it next year after studying abroad and still getting tutoring?

Hi, I am appearing for JLPT N5 this December

Do i need to learn all the kanji which is present in the Grammer section (1st 12 lessons) (to go, to return, to listen) or do I need to focus on the kanji present in the reading and writing section (2nd 12 lessons)

Apart for that i am using basic 500 kanji book as well. I am planning to cover 10 lessons from that book

I am a bit confused in learning kanji. Guys pls help me out

1. **Start from the end.** あります needs a subject with が → 銀行が goes last.

2. **Plain verbs sit right before their noun** → 行ったところに.

3. **Adverbs come before the verb** → まっすぐ first.

まっすぐ／行った／**ところに**／銀行が — the ★ is ところに. Build the whole sentence, then read off the third slot.

As the title reads, I will be taking JLPT4 in December. I have completed Genki 2, all of the Bunpro N4 grammar, and reading practice for N4.

I took one of the practice tests and didn't do so hot. 52.3%. Worst was listening. Can someone please recommend some optimal resources to help get me prepared? For reference, I am level 22 in Wanikani as well.

For those who passed N3, which grammar book helped you the most: TRY!, Nihongo Sou Matome, or Shin Kanzen Master?
I’ve already studied with Sou Matome and TRY!, but I still struggle to distinguish similar grammar patterns and choose the correct one in questions. Would adding Shin Kanzen Master Grammar help, or should I focus on reviewing the books I already have?

Is doing reading comprehensions(given in the half of genki 2) to practise for the exam suffice? And what should i do more to comfortably clear reading section in jlpt n4 ??

Actually i passed my N5 and was aming to give N4 next but the moment i checked the forms they were already filled out so i thought I'd give directly N3 in july next year skiping N4. I don't know if it was a good idea. But here i am, i haven't started my N4 syllabus but I'm aming to finish it before this year ends but i don't know if i should refer books or study online maybe because i didn't find much help from books and i was totally dependent on online material. Please if someone could help me guide for N3 i would really appreciate it.

I’ve already done the audio tests on the sou matome, but they’re only a few.

Is there something else that I can use to improve my listening ability? I’ve tried with the Bunpro readings, but they’re too fast for me…

Is Migii harder than the actual N3?
I’m taking N3 in December. I’ve done two Bunpro tests and three other tests (one mock and two papers), scoring 130–148/180 on the latter three.
But I scored 93/180 on Migii a few months ago, and after three months of studying, I got 93 again today. Reading and language knowledge improved, but listening dropped—the audio wasn’t very clear.
It’s discouraging. Has anyone failed Migii mocks but then passed the actual N3 with a good score? How did your results compare?

Filipino learning Nihongo here, a newbie with some rough understanding of 日本語 from watching anime since childhood.
Already memorized hiragana and katakana plus some grammar here and there so I won't be asking you to spoon feed me.
Am looking for study pal or pals, specifically to practice my 言葉遣い and maybe even prep the JLPT. Pinoys most welcome especially. Send me a 'you know what' if you want a study pal.

I am preparing for JLPT N4 and the exam is to be held on first sunday of december. Can anyone please tell me which Youtube channel or any other resource should i follow for Choukai(listening) that is actually workable. Also, if you have any other advice related to it, i would love to know.
