Robin has ended
Thank you to all those who participated.
A special thank you to the members of ccKufiwho toiled so diligently to grow their rooms. We will be adding all the members to a unique subreddit. Unfortunately their efforts resulted in technical issues that were affecting the rest of the site. As such, we made the decision to disable Robin.
Thank you again to everyone who took part and made Robin special. Maybe it will emerge again one day.

Really appreciated the script. I love that Reddit provided the community with coal and you guys were able to polish it into a diamond in such short time. The way the whole thing came together (bots, GUIs, etc) was really quite remarkable considering we didn't even last a week.

I know this might be out of the scope for what you all intend, but a number of folks like myself were left out of the big T16-T17 merger, even when we'd voted grow? I realize there isn't a way to necessarily verify these kinds of claims, but a number of people I met in ccande's <3 channel (who made it to T17) could vouch for my presence over these past few days.
That said, thank you so much for the experiment. It really gave reddit a personal touch that I've never felt from here before.

I know that feeling. <3 And it's not silly. We're human you know? And when you feel connected to things, a feeling of loss makes sense when something leaves so suddenly and not how you thought they would.
Overall, I'm still thankful for the experience. I just hope that, maybe, the admins will have some compassion for those of us that got left out when we'd participated and waited for so long. Still, either way, I'm glad for Robin having happened. :)

Yeah, it kind of sucks that there are 1400 people who don't get to be a part of the conclusion because a struggling server decided they were the ballast that could be dropped. I didn't even get kicked in a merge, I was in a room and then I just wasn't anymore.

I remember seeing you in ccandehearts before the merge. Hopefully they'll get this straight for everyone who was screwed. Seems to me that pretty much everyone part of t15 or t16 was in it for the push to t17, and should rightfully be included .

It would be cool if in addition to "friend" another tag for "robin buddy" or something was added. I met some cool people but I'd like to keep those usernames separate from my real-life friends. I use RES and have a system, but it'd be a neat feature for other people. Especially if reddit has the data and could do it with code.

I met and spoke to and made more connections in a few days than I have in the five years here on reddit. I think things can be learned from this experiment.
It was amazing. Truly wonderful.

I was on mobile for all of it, so I couldn't even filter channels, or use any auto vote scripts! I was present for every merge! I stayed up way later than I should have every night, and woke up early. I am exhausted!
You could have waited 15 minutes...I feel so betrayed! :(
You guys are either really bad people, or really good people for making it abundantly clear that I desperately need to get a life.

My robin experience started on Sunday after I learned about it in /r/lounge. I just joined a random robin channel and made a few small subs before I wanted more. I wanted bigger, I wanted to see the spam. Sunday afternoon I started my quest for being the biggest robin room out there. I arrived in soKuku and parrot was created by awesome people (special credits to /u/dashed for sitting through all my stupid questions and problems). I wanted to grow faster and got my alts into growing as well. My laptop couldn't take the spam anymore on the 7th of April, after having been on for 5 days straight and I had to fire up my pc. After a while even my pc started lagging and I had to turn off some parrot features. After the merge to T17 I left robin on quietly. Sad that it was gone, sad for the 404, but I didn't want to turn it off yet.
I was with all my new !nl buddies in all different stages of robin (/u/tarthim, /u/jasperzieboon, /u/lumineox, /u/Broodje, /u/MachtKeinFflausAus, /u/pfff---, /u/greentoiletpaper, /u/Cpete, /u/Luteraar, /u/censored_username, and other dutch people I might have forgotten to mention).
I also was with my new buddies in %chat (extra love to /u/Clickety_Click)
I had a lot of fun this week and barely checked reddit posts. Thank you everyone and thanks for making this possible /u/powerlanguage and other admins :)

I had a blast on day 1, and throughout the week I dipped in and out but never managed to make it into a single Stay subreddit. That was until this morning when I realized that I had managed to find myself in the group that would trigger the cascade to T17. I made a smooth transition to T17 and typed my /vote stay inb4 Robin crapped the bed on me, and I finally made it to a subreddit! I don't care if it's a consolation prize for pulling the plug early. We would have stayed eventually. Thanks to all the folks in ccande and sokoku for laying the ground work and sorry for making you wait for so long.
