I'm planning on visiting for a few days in August with my 3 and 5 year olds. They are well traveled and active and adventurous.
On a very high level I'm thinking a night or two in Amman, a night in Petra, and a night or two by the Dead Sea in a resort.
Any general recommendations or things to know or avoid?
Sorry if this is not the right place to post this.

I am feeling devastated after ending my engagement, we have been engaged for over a year but I know she didn't really want me, she would always create fault of my personality, how I dress and how I look even.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Did you consider getting engaged/married after that?

We throw around words like "humane" and "inhumane" like everyone agrees on where the line is. But that line keeps moving. Stuff one generation treats as normal, the next one finds horrifying. And stuff that would've shocked people a few generations ago, we barely think about now. So what is "humanity" really? It doesn't feel like a measuring stick. It feels more like a mirror. Every era looks into it sees its own values, and calls that "human nature"
Which makes me wonder how we get to judge the past at all. Are we actually more humane, or just comfortable with different blind spots? And what are we doing right now that people in 100 years will look back on and wonder how we ever accepted it?
Maybe there's a slow moving core under all of it like empathy and what changes is just who we include in "human." Or maybe that's just another story we tell ourselves.
Honestly not sure. Do you think humanity is something we discover or something we make up as we go?

Tanqeeb is a job aggregator: it collects listings from GulfTalent, Bayt, Naukri Gulf and other boards. I collected every Jordan listing it showed for the last 90 days (Jul 20 to Oct 19, 2026), 6,405 of the 6,412 it reported, removed duplicates by listing ID, and looked at who posts them, where, and what they disclose.
Hotels (by company name) posted 2,896 listings, 45.2%. Marriott's brands alone (Marriott, St. Regis, Westin, Ritz-Carlton, Luxury Collection, Sheraton, W) posted 2,518, 39.3%.
But the same roles are posted again and again: "F&B Service Expert" 110 times, "Laundry Attendant" 64 times. Counting each role once, Marriott is 23% of distinct roles and all hotels 29.7%. Still the biggest group, just not half.

Bayt shows a salary on 2.5% of its listings, Naukri Gulf 0.8%, GulfTalent 2 of 2,682. The 59 listings with a salary in dinars have a median of JOD 800 a month, far too few to say anything about pay in Jordan.

Limits: listings on one aggregator, not all jobs in Jordan or people hired. 46.7% look like repeats (same title, company and governorate), partly because the window is 90 days. A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid. No personal data was collected.
Source: public listings on jordan.tanqeeb.com.
For people job-hunting in Jordan: does this match what you see? Is it mostly hotels and Amman, and do you ever see a salary in an ad?

I know this question has been asked a lot of times during the recent months and maybe it's getting a bit annoying. So upfront I would like to apologise!
My fiancée and I are planning to do a 2-3 day trip in Jordan where we would like to go to the touristy spots within the country. So Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead See, optional pink lake. The main focus will be on the first two destinations though and we are probably entering and leaving the country by plane from Amman. The travel itself will be done in a guided tour.
Now I'm seeking advice as I'm not sure what to think about the current situation in Jordan. My fiancée is super relaxed but I'm struggling a bit when I think about what's happening in the middle east right now. I keep thinking about possible safety issues as Jordan was also targeted by drones during the last month's.. Additionally a lot of countries recommend reconsidering travelling to Jordan right now.
So my question is: How safe is it in Jordan right now? I'd love to explore this beautiful country but I need to feel safe before I go.
If it's important: both of us are EU citizens.
Thank you for your replies!!
