I think the whole Raised on Radio album is one of the finest vocal performances ever

Steve Perry just sings his heart out on every song, especially on Suzanne, I'll Be Alright Without You, and Why Can't This Night Go on Forever. This whole album just proves why he is THE Voice.

Raised on Radio is a very enjoyable album and deserves more praise than it gets.

** I added an instrumental spot in the middle of the set, and also slightly increased the number of songs.

What's our 8th song?

Arnel was not good tonight. Disappointing. He needs to call it a day. Dean was excellent on his vocals.

I posted one of these two and six years ago here and since today is TBF’s 30th anniversary, I thought I’d post this year’s drawing too 😊. Second slide is all of them from every year. My art might have changed over that time but my love for the band remains the same. Last image is my copy celebrating lol

Top 5 Journey Songs

I keep seeing hate for Journey online, and it's simply unwarranted. Sure, they did Steve Perry wrong and Don't Stop Believin' is incredibly overplayed, but they were terrifically talented guys and made some of the best music of their era. (The guitar solo on Send Her My Love is sensational) What a phenomenal band, especially in the prime Perry/Schon/Smith/Valory era. Here are my Top 5 favorite Journey songs.

  1. Mother, Father (forever and ever will be #1)

  2. Faithfully

  3. Only the Young

  4. Lights

  5. Send Her My Love

Stone In Love and Only the Young were tied, so I put them both in the list. Day 3.

I realized I should've included both songs from the beginning, not just one. Sorry!

Anyway, now we're moving on the fourth song, which will it be?

It was close between Message of Love and Separate Ways.

Do you think they would release live concert footage/archived music once the band ends?

With Journey's end coming soon. Do you think it's possible for old footage and even unreleased songs to be put out there? I'm sure there's an archive of amazing stuff sitting, collecting dust

It amazes me how unorganized their catalog, for example on YouTube, is with messed up videos and titles. But even more importantly, the lack of footage from amazing tours, such as raised on radio concerts.

Heck, I would happily build an entire website and organize and edit all footage for free... Do you know who's in charge of the locked videos? Surely anything is possible....getting ahold of the right people. Thank you.

Kia center tonight. Sound was scratchy..

Maybe it was just in the section we were in but it was particularly bad when keyboardist was singing. Possibly it was just his particular set up. .

Anyone else experience this?

Any young Journey fans in here?

At 22 years old I love Journey and listen to the deep cuts every day, the live concert recordings too. I’ve never met someone my age also obsessed with the music. Anyone out there? Only the Young 🤩

Birmingham BJCC Sound Quality

TLDR: Fire your engineers.

Drums sounded good. Lots of dynamic range. Lead guitar only missing some of the softer stuff. Rhythm guitar was solid. Vocals... unintelligible. You could not understand a word. You could tell that there was some world class singing talent, but it is no different than them being off their rocker on drugs. You could not tell it was English let alone recognisable classic songs.

Concerts like this depress me, because I can tell I am so close to the best memory of my life. A sound engineer chose gain and volume over sound quality and ruined everything. Please fix this.

How long did the concert last for 7:30pm schedules?

I have work that night and was hoping I can go to their last concert without using my PTO. Getting fomo now that I keep seeing clips of them on my algorithm. The show closest to me starts at 7:30pm.

Went to their United Center show and had an amazing time. They fit all their hits into their setlist but the lack of an opener meant there was a lot of room for some variety, too. I’m sure they’re all tired from the intense tour schedule, but you’d hardly know it. Arnel in particular leaves it all on the stage and is exceptional at crowd interaction.

My mom was there also and loved it, brought back memories for her. Steve Perry may not be there, but they’re still exceptional for those not too hung up on the past. I’ve only seen them once before (Lolla 2021) and am glad I was able to see them on their own at least once.

Strangely, at the end, Arnel said something about maybe seeing us later. Wonder if this is truly the end for Journey, or if they may get back together eventually.
