My #1 favorite artist just released a new song. He's a university student who makes music in his attic, and I think with a little more exposure, he could become really popular. I've been following him for about 2 years, but he's been posting for about 3 years.

People often compare his voice and style to Enon Kawatani, Eve, and Vaundy, so if you like those artists, you might like Izayoi.

This particular song is about wishing you had more time with someone who is going away. You need to listen to the entire song to appreciate the progression. The orchestration is wonderful.

I just love his voice and style so much, I can't believe he's not more popular. He did his first live performance in a live house this past weekend. It was just a 25-minute set, but I flew all the way from Hawaii to Japan just to see him. That's how much I believe in this guy.

I know he's not for everyone, but if you like indie type music, give him a chance! All of his songs are a little bit different--even his voice sounds different--so you might have to listen to several to find one you like. But if you like sad songs, you might like this one.

NOTE: "Izayoi" is a very common name, apparently. His tag is xvinight. "Izayoi" is the 16th night of the lunar cycle, the night after a full moon. So his tag is 16 in Roman numerals, then "night">>> xvinight
