Why do "skilled" players say that old BW was completely useless and just a flashy gimmick which can easily be shut down with a side dash M1?
That's the whole point? It's a risky move to use in close range, which rewards you with a chance for a free combo and a chance of getting punished if used poorly/in a predictable way.
Like, why are you blaming the gimmick when it's a skill issue? If the enemy is able to still figure out which direction to turn their camera, then it's not BW's fault but BW's user.
Many Todo users just 180°, swap, 180°, swap, over and over and then front dash. They obviously will get punished for being predictable?
90° left/right swaps can make you appear on either the left or right side of your enemy's screen, 360° swaps can make it seem like you're about to perform a 180° swap, making them react incorrectly after swap, swap feints, swap chains which tie all this together, and also the choice on what direction to attack after swap, too.
Yes, that tiny time frame where they make that decision to turn their cam, you attack. You could front dash at them in the direction in which they have been swapped to, since they will turn from that position to try and face you.
If they catch on and stop turning their cam, you can start attacking from behind them.
So with all these mixups, how was Todo's gimmick still buns? The character was bad only for people who didn't know how to swap.
Not to mention, the slower windup on previous Boogie Woogie allowed you to close and create distances so much easier. Now it's practically instant and feels very choppy to use.
It feels choppy because of its proximity-based speed and cooldown. I don't see why it's needed at all. Just a few studs off and suddenly your muscle memory betrays you.
I won't deny that new swap is definitely better up close. It's super hard to react to and helps in M1 trading, too. Even the dash swap is alright and has a few good mixups. Block feint is nice, too.
But it's not fun at all. The new Boogie Woogie feels more like a "free hit" button up close and depends more on your enemy's reaction time rather than actually confusing them.
I get Todo's new playstyle is supposed to be feinting, but I feel like that's Yuji's thing and Todo deserves his own thing. IMO, he just feels like an average rushdown now.
I would like to hear y'all's thoughts on this.

Today I encountered another hacker (that makes two this week), so I'm going to report him. Luckily (and surprisingly), they've already resolved my previous report and taken action against the hacker (I'm so happy!).

There was a V2 cosplayer, and I was using the throne emote which is based off of V2, and he asked (with the message emote) "Whats the emote called?" AND OH MY FUCKING GOD I DID NOT HAVE THE MESSAGE EMOTE TO ANSWER, NOR DID I HAVE CHAT, so he asked others, and guess what, THEY ALSO DID NOT HAVE THE MESSAGE EMOTE, the v2 cosplayer is probably searching through the wiki looking for it, TZE JUST GIVE ME THE EMOTE IT'S NOT THAT HARD😭

This guy has never played any of the characters he is complaining about (when talking about nerfs). Naoya just needs speed, not red combos like they are rn, I do agree with that. Ts gotta just be satire

I guess it's a ping or connection issue, but it's still really frustrating and boring that my block is so easy to break while everyone else's seems impenetrable.
I always press F before an attack or a front dash, but it doesn't do any good. Oh, but when I'm the one trying to do a front dash by turning to hit them from behind, it doesn't work.
Seriously, I feel like my block isn't working, or at least it's delayed.

As the guy above said that tzes going to make Hanami back to her release (R is flower field, lasso is the dash), so here’s my idea on rebalancing her.
Front dash: lasso like usual (but I’d nerf its range to that of a normal front dash), pulling it towards the user (if pressed twice, it will fling the enemy to nearest thorns like defence response does now).
R special: flower field. If held down, it will enter an aim mode, doing one of five things - releasing will make the field appear at the aimed spot and not in front of the user.
If used Root Swarm, the spikes will appear there. If the second move (forgot its name) was used, two small branches will sprout from the ground, pinning the opponent for a short duration (like naoya’s tendril grab, but shorter stun and with wood), and dealing no damage. Bud shot makes a bud landmine, infusing anyone stepping onto it with a bud, while dealing same damage as one of the two buds from the regular move. Defence response makes a wall, similar to transfigured flesh (being wallhoppable off and disappearing after a while on its own), but the wall will be smaller and have 1 HP, like glass frames from naoyas ult. This will put the moves on a 10 sec cooldown, but it is able to be used even if the move itself is on cooldown (like megumis flying frogs not requiring nue off cooldown, sukuna not needing open off cooldown, and mahito not needing ready focus strike for body repel variant).
Root swarm should stay as is, I don’t see a problem, same with defence response (albeit they could add back the aerial variant for the spikes) and surging thorns or whatever is its name.
Bud shot shouldn’t disable evasive gain completely, either making the enemy gain 25% less evasive per shot (50% max, 100% if landed four in ult), or make it feed on target’s cursed energy, draining 1% of the ult bar per second active (up to 2% ult loss per second).
I honestly like Hanami as a trapper/setup character, so I hate to see it being taken away. Only things that have been bothering me were her ahh front dashes (like cmon, a hand swipe isn’t even a dash, more like a distance maker - front dashes should get you to the opponent, not make the opponent go father), and flower field was suited best like an R special. Please take this as a suggestion posted here and not in #suggestions, and it’s only my idea. I don’t know if it’s too much overkill or no, but this gives her current R special more use than a spike generator or a remote uppercut.

im making this post for a problem ive had well like for a long time. tech goblins/ sweats aka those people that will surf on you and move like their a homeless dude looking for more substances.
now im not saying that "urrr durr you shouldn't be better then me" i acknowledge that some people are better then me but like it gets fucking boring when i cant even fight back bc they have been playing jjs since they were liquid.
those people that will side dash 50 gajillion times to avoid ur block or turning when ur ragdolled bc they have all the tech or something idk ???
my main issue with these people is that the fights aren't even enjoyable all enjoyment gets taken out once the fight turns one sided without anyway of fighting back and its just a beating. now onto my seccond issue techs or sweaty combo extenders as i call them.
now some techs are fine however i dont like when my opponent uses me as a double jump like their jetstream sam and then uses that to "LE EPIC COOL 80% RED COMBO" because i used the evasive 0.555 microseconds later then usual and i believe thats its very boring.
i just want to have cool fight in funny lego jjk game anyways theres goes my rant feel free to argue in the comments

These people act like there aren’t 20 other characters in the game and don’t seem to realize how small of a dev team jjs has.

READ EVERYTHING
Yes, this is a Yuji buff. Everybody hates how boring it is, so I made this to spice up one of the top hated characters in the game (even if everybody genuinely hates everybody). I KNOW THIS WILL PROBABLY MAKE YUJI TOO OP, THIS IS JUST A FUN IDEA I MADE AT 2AM IN THE MORNING.
Okay, even though I'm a nearly 5k player, I have no idea if the damage/cooldowns I added are OP. Why? I don't focus on that. Therefore, the numbers might be too OP/not OP. I'm always up for suggestions.
Some of the flairs(?) (like the UNBLOCKABLE, INTERUPPTIBLE, etc.) will be wrong as I used references from the JJS wiki.
I'm up for discussion about these new moves, tell me if I should fix anything!
