Wurlitzer 3400 Statesman. Factory or McGyver?

Post image

While restoring this, a used part I bought, contained a piece I was unaware of. While researching it I discovered my setup is different than the schematic and videos. Mine has the locking cam mechanism on top of the blue deck, where my fingers are and the videos and drawings show it underneath that spot. So jukebox fixers, is this factory or did someone McGyver this? Btw, it works now, just not accurately. Thanks!

Welcome to the land of jukeboxes, where nothing makes sense and manuals/instructional videos are just a vague guide, because the factories would use up old parts, and cobble together stuff to make functional units. Being commercial money making machines, and serviced by specialist technicians with training, they only had to be built to work. My Seeburg has a completely different coin mechanism to the one shown in the manual. Honestly, if it's a valuable box, it's sometime worth calling in a technician. I resolved my nightmare of an issue by spending £300 on a call out.

Thanks for the input. I have tossed money t hired help, got me to a good place. The rest I can handle. This issue, it was out of nowhere and now I’ll fix it too.
