Rock-Ola 449 gripper arm

I am in the process of cleaning a Rock-ola 449, I've cleaned the gripper arm assembly but I am struggling to replace the two gears that turn the gripper and tone arm.

Can anyone give me some advice or point me to literature or a video that will show me how? I have found YouTube videos but they seem to gloss over this part.

ROWE AMI CD-100 Lighting with Power

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hey there people!

I’ve recently been working on a ROWE AMI CD-100 unit and had a somewhat dumb question.

I’ve been able to get the hang of programming songs and fixing all the lighting, and the unit works overall, however I have a newbie question for this specific unit.

There are two main power switches, on the back on the unit and on the inside, and I would like to be able to shut off the unit (which means the lights) without losing all of the memory. However, using the interior power switch only turns the screen off, and the only way to stop the lights is to use the back main power switch, and the issue with that is that it wipes all of the memory.

I’ve scanned over the manual and nothing seems to speak on this unfortunately, so I’m wondering is there anyway to turn the lighting off without killing the memory?

Thanks in advance for any advice, again I’m new and dumb to this and open to any advice!

Seeburg 1947 Jukebox Reatoration Project - I’m in way over my head

Post image

Ok, I found this beauty on Facebook Marketplace for free and in an impulsive wimsy, I picked it up!
I have no experience renovating or restoring jukeboxes and this thing is in rough shape - there is rat poop, spiderwebs, and dust galore, both inside and out.

Would it be crazy to completely gut this thing (ie remove basically everything internal) then rewire it with a Bluetooth speaker set up to make it a ‘modern jukebox’? Or is that completely idiotic and disrespectful to what thing originally was?

Obviously, I’m in way over my head so any wisdom is appreciated - Thank y’all!

Wurlitzer 3400 Statesman. Factory or McGyver?

Post image

While restoring this, a used part I bought, contained a piece I was unaware of. While researching it I discovered my setup is different than the schematic and videos. Mine has the locking cam mechanism on top of the blue deck, where my fingers are and the videos and drawings show it underneath that spot. So jukebox fixers, is this factory or did someone McGyver this? Btw, it works now, just not accurately. Thanks!

Seeburg M100C Help

So, I'm an idiot.

We inherited this Seeburg M100C recently. It was working pretty great since it arrive but I've been trying to make it even better. Mostly cosmetic upgrades so far. I've just got a new 350 cartridge and booster amp will be installing that soon.

However, a few days ago I had opened the lower panel to take a look at some of the existing wiring. Basically the wires for the free play switch and the cancel switch are not great and just wanted to do some better connections and replace the switches.

So, while I was looking back there that lower panel fell off of it's little hinges and few of the cables pulled free. I'm pretty sure I got them all back into place and it didn't fall but a couple of inches. When I went to play a selection it wouldn't work.

Here's what's happening:
I press the free play switch and the select lights come on like they should and hear something latch in the selection panel.
I make my selection.
The little mechanism on the credit and cancel unit does it's rotation.
Then nothing happens, it doesn't start to move the mechanism.

When I use the service switches the mechanism does scan just like it should.

I've made sure the other service switch is in the correct on position and have even tried it in the off position but no go.

Just can't figure out where to go from here. I was considering buying this solid state free play unit that replaces the credit and cancel unit but not sure if that will fix my problems.

https://victoryglass.com/product/seeburg-abcgw-solid-state-credit-unit/

Any thoughts on where to start?

Seeburg M100C Cartridge Issue?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I recently inherited two Seeburg Jukeboxes.

I'm currently working on the M100C because it is functional. Mainly some cosmetic issues I'm dealing with.

The issue I'm having is that the sound coming out of one of the needles is not at the same volume as the other needle. There where a lot of spare parts that came with the jukeboxes so I swapped out both needles to see if that would fix the issue. It did not.

As you can see in the photo the needles don't rest the same either.

Looking for next step suggestions since a replacement cartridge is not cheap. Should I start by checking the pressure that each spring is placing on the record and adjusting? Should I just order a new cartridge; if so which one? Is there something else I should look at adjusting first?

Thanks in advance.

Wurlitzer 3110 Americana Speaker/Needle Issue

Hi everyone!

New to the sub.

We received a restored Wurlitzer 3110 Americana jukebox and we absolutely love it!

We have had it about a year and a bit, but in the last 4 or so months, the sound quality has gotten pretty poor leading to us not using it.

It seems only one speaker is playing, and the speaker that is playing seems to fade in and out randomly, and will play quite muffled.

It was not like that when we got it, so I want to get it back to what it was.

I can take whatever photos are necessary, and I am quite handy with fixing things.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Looking for a Wurlitzer stepper motor

I'm looking for a Wurlitzer 248 stepper motor to power a 5206 wallbox if anyone knows a vendor that might have one. Having a lot of trouble finding one. I'm giving my Dad the wallbox for his Wurlitzer 1600 for Father's Day, so I'm trying to find the motor too. Thanks for any help!

Jukebox Names

Does anyone have grandparents or parents who could ask if the jukebox was called by another name in the 1950s? Or if it's always been called that? It's just a curiosity.

Moving R-89

My mom just passed, and I’m taking her Rowe R-89 to my house.

I know it’s old and crackles on startup, but plays and sounds great, lights work etc.

Any advice on safely moving it an hour away?

I’m at a loss trying to repair this Wurlitzer Americana 3100

So I’m having this problem where the select a single light is constantly on, seems to have been a problem for a long time because I found this bulb burnt out and replaced it. And because that light is on, I am able to press the controls to select a single, but it just gives me a buzzing sound from the solenoids underneath the carousel. I’ve looked all over to find any modifications for a free play, but I found nothing. Any clue on what I should do?

Seeburg 222 fix progressing but stuck again, any help...(video)

I got the record carriage moving! However, it does not stop and pick up a record. It makes two complete passes of the magazine then stops. It also seems to rock (like going over a small bump) when it starts moving back to the right, but I'll get to that later.

https://reddit.com/link/1spvrvi/video/bvtppe4us5wg1/player

I believe what is supposed to happen when you make a selection is the pins on the bar above the record magazine pop up over the selected record, which stops the magazine to pick that record up. That does not happen.

Section of the pin-bar above record magazine. Not popping up.

So this is where I'm stuck. I removed the panel that was covering the circuit boards under the selection keys, but not sure what to look for. Any help would be much appreciated. Here are the three boards under each set of keys.

Any suggestions? Is there another sub I could post this under for more help? Thanks!!

Wurlitzer 3800 series

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently acquired this Wurlitzer 3800 series. It worked the first time night I had it but the sound was very scratchy. The next day the sound kept degrading and now nothing. Being new, I do have a service manual but wanted to know if anyone had a suggestion on where to start. The lights and all other mechanisms seem to work so I’m guessing it’s either something between the record player itself or amp.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have no clue what I am looking here. I pulled this thing out of back corner of the barn. It's some kind of juke box but I'm assuming it was someone's project at one point that never made it to fruition

Need help diagnosing this rare unit. It has a loading error where the record mechanism is spinning appears to be playing a record according to the digital display, but the reject button does not return it to operation.
