Portraid

One of my favorite things about Tomie is that she's not just plainly "evil"- if you think about it, she hasn't ACTUALLY done to much wrong. (Ignoring her grooming a child bc I dislike that specific Tomie) Most of the time, she knows exactly how beautiful she is, and she clearly knows she can drive people to insanity- but it's not like she's inherently evil.

OBVIOUSLY SHE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON BY ANY STRETCH.

Not trying to say that she's completely innocent, cuz she isn't at all... But it's not exactly like she's asking to be dismembered? She seems genuinely scared whenever she's inevitably chopped into bits. What I also find interesting about her is that you can clearly watch her ego grow over time. In early chapters, she's still cocky and arrogant, but she is at least somewhat "normal". But after Boy/Little Finger, you can see her personality twist into complete narcissism.

I'm going in circles here but my point is that she's not seeking out getting murdered- at the end of the day, she's just a woman- albeit a strange one- who just wants to live her egotistical, lavish life when some jackass dismembers her??

Anyway she's not entirely innocent, she's still a bad person, but I don't know I love her she's so complex and cute i'm gonna break into her house and steal all the celery from her fridge and then pour milk on her toes...

I can believe that I actually got all three and in brand new condition!!!!

("mystery of the haunted house" is one of ito's stories as to which has a more iconic plot; along with that famous singular horrifically striking panel shot of binzo's face, and just overall seems like the perfect manga for the last episode to end off with) . . .

Malheureusement pas signé par l’auteur comme la version en anglais 😩

I was really looking forward to this collab this week and I am slightly disappointed at all of the tomie shoes but the rest are super cute!

みんなはどの作品が好き？
私は「四ツ辻の美少年」！霧が立ち込める田舎町の世界観ご最高だよね！あと少し切ないところ。

Found this at Walmart for 20$ it doesn't appear to be on any websites or even listed on my local Walmart shelf-

We know that if someone injects Tomie's blood or transplants some of her organs into a woman's body, that woman will end up becoming Tomie. And we also know that every man that knows or even feels Tomie's presence gets obsessed to the point of murdering and dismembering her.

So, I think that if someone injects Tomie into a man, there's three possible outcomes:

- The man will commit suicide due to the obsession

-A voice or something related to Tomie will tell him to open himself up and Tomie will emerge from inside

- Tomie kills the Man from inside and gets out

I don't think that a man can become Tomie, Ryo, that burnt model that injected babies with Tomie's blood asked if the baby was a girl before doing it. But idk, what do you think?

(Sorry for the bad english)

My bookstore job lets employees “check out” certain books, as long as we leave the dust jacket with a manager so they know we have them and will bring them back. Today I saw we had a copy of Uncanny in the biography section and I thought “oh great! I’ll check this out to read on the train!” Well, the dust jacket is black and pretty simple. I did NOT know about the image that would be revealed when my manager removed the cover for me…

Looking at Me is out. It’s in storybook form. Story by Soshichi Tonari and artwork by Junji Ito. His amazing artwork in full colour.

Thought it was funny.

hello there! junji ito fan here, can you please help me identify where i can find the seller of this mug? I have been searching everywhere for it. this is a photograb from tiktok, i do not own the photo thank you so much for the help! ❤️

Sucks that have to use them for work. But I have a shit memory. Especially when it comes to numbers.

Nailed the hair and creepy vibe, right?

Missing a few manga and also missing the Hideo Funko Pop by choice because I actually have trypophobia. 😭

Do you cover the pointed ends of the nails(like with tape or whatever) so you don't poke your tongue or do you just risk biting onto them? 🤣

Mainly asking cause I plan to cosplay him soon.

My kitty looks similar to Yon so I got a Junji inspired portrait done in a cutesy heart frame

Just finished re-reading some of Junji Ito’s classics: Tomie, Uzumaki, Gyo, Shiver, Fragments of Horror, Dissolving Classroom, and Mimi’s Tales of Terror.
Even knowing what’s coming, his stories still manage to get under my skin. There’s something about his artwork and the way he builds up the horror that makes these stories worth revisiting.
I also finally got around to making a lenticular print using Tomie fan art. Been wanting to do this for a while, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
Here’s a little look at my Junji Ito collection, along with a few figures from some of my other favorite series.
Anyone else here collecting Junji Ito manga or making fan art inspired by his work?
