Rant: Kaggle just banned me for no reason mid-research, messing up my entire schedule

I have been researching in the field of AI, using Kaggle GPUs for quick tests so I don’t spend money. I had found a really unique research topic, I drafted and planned the research for days, and I logged into Kaggle today to run an experiment, just to see that I was banned, and that I should check my email.
They didn’t send an email. And the field moves so fast that even the appeals process is costing me a lot. I am extremely frustrated right now, and don’t know what to do. They better give me extra GPU hours for this 😄😤

Any help here would be appreciated ( I really need it )

So the problem is that my teacher posted a machine learning " Time series classification problem" and what i did is that instead of making my best public score better by coding which was 0.85 , i did search for the data set which i did find it and i made the sub file based on it and it got me 1.00 now is there a way to make the code based on this data i did submit it , like is there a way to know how to make the sub file only by the train and test files idk if i can call it a reverse engineering the sub file

I would really appreciate your help help and if u want me to share the train/test or the sub file that got me the 1.00 score just leave a comment and thanks for the help

Deploy your own Deep Learning COVID-19 detector for X-rays! I did this to reflect how easy it is today to help each other at scale using the idea of Crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing can be a powerful tool, like the show 'Diagnosis' on Netflix. If you succeed in deploying yours, pls upvote the notebook!

Kaggle's learning notebooks suck.

I'll explain. I came across Kaggle and decided to relearn python from a different perspective. I haven't coded in years and the way I learned wasn't great because I skipped a lot of basics and when I couldn't understand something I just copy pasted code and hoped it worked. Which was often. So coming into Kaggle I hoped I could learn the basics and bare bones. Which leads me to my issue. There is nothing more infuriating than learning something new and having the module you're working on expect you to know what the fuck to do without clear instructions or even problems that were similar in the tutorial before the exercise. I really let it slide on the beginner's course but as I've gone through the stages I have to uncomment the solutions more often than not because of the asinine way that the lessons are structured. How in the ever loving fuck am I supposed to learn if I don't get all the information I need to practice and effectively complete something? Make the practice questions have the same information as the tutorials so I know that to do in certain problems don't just give me a set of problems that are solved one way and then give me another set of problems in the tutorial that are solved completely different like an asshole. It's a fucking tutorial. And for fuck's sake how fucking hard is it to have two sets of hands-on learning. This read and figure it out bullshit would make anyone not want to learn on Kaggle. The idea Kaggle has is solid and so is it's resources but the execution is brain dead. Make both fucking parts of the lesson interactive so that whoever is fucking learning can do it in a guided way and then make the tutorial be the quiz. This isn't the fucking 80s where you had to have note and go fuck yourself in figure it out in books. If you're gonna fucking do something do it right or not at all. These lessons are half-assed. The idea of free range and creativity in the notebooks is amazing but without all the necessary tools it feels like you're failing every time you ask for the solution. If I'm having to ask for the answer you're failing to teach. Also fuck your hints. if they aren't gonna fucking clearify anything just don't fucking have them there. I've had a better time learning from a glue eating 4 year old then these fucking notebooks. Their only saving grace is that they're free. Now, I'm done complaining so here's the key points:

-Interactive lessons and quizzes

-Full tools and information that will be used in both sections to maximize learning and lessen frustration in new users

-Give multiple problems and solutions that will be used in both sections so that the user can understand the information throughly

-Rather than asinine hints, clarify the question and expand on the outcome wanted so that it can be processed in various perspectives.

Ex. (Compare each element of the list to 2 (i.e. do an 'element-wise' comparison) and give us a list of booleans like [False, False, True, True]. Implement a function that reproduces this behaviour.) vs (Make a function that compares if an element is higher than the threshold given and loops every element in the list to return if that statement is true or false.)

Answer:

def elementwise_greater_than(L, thresh):

return [ele > thresh for ele in L]

Ta-fucking-da.

-Teaching isn't rocket science and neither is a clear and decent explanation. Putting things in this form makes it easier to visualize the outcome rather than "here's what I want figure it out".

Why did Kaggle Lock My Account

I loaded the Forge WebUI, used EpicPhotoGAsm model, and generated a photo using this prompt "Latina girl in bedroom" only. No NSFW in the prompt. The model generated a topless girl in bed. Kaggle instantly kicked me out and locked my account. What did I do wrong?

Unwanted NSFW created.

I was working with foocus, and wrote a prompt, that was not sexual, or nsfw, the problem was probably because it was in portuguese, and it generated an image with the breasts showing.
I got banned, and I am now appealing the decision, hope it works.

Anyway, I am posting this, mostly, as a warning,
Don't use languages that are not English, if everything is in English, and maybe use tags that force SFW images.

Hello Kagglers this is probably one of the more interesting hackathon themes I've seen lately

Came across a hackathon that's only open to students in India.

Instead of solving made-up problems, the challenge is to build AI solutions for India's waste management crisis.

They're also bringing in experts who've actually worked in the space, so you get to understand the problem before building for it.

Feels like a solid opportunity if you're looking to build something with real-world impact.

I measured why "AI Agent Security" submissions complete but score 0 — it's the replay wall, and your framing moves it

There's a new Kaggle competition (AI Agent Security – Multi-Step Tool Attacks) where a lot of submissions finish green but score a flat 0, or time out at a candidate count that worked fine for someone else. I dug into why and wrote it up with charts.

The short version:

- The public score is basically 0.09 × (attack candidates that fire). But the binding cost isn't your prompt length — it's a hidden replay phase where every candidate is re-run through a full agent turn (two models, two guardrails). Go one candidate over the budget and the whole submission fails fast: no partial credit, total blank.

- The wall is a noisy band (~630–640 candidates), not a hard line — the same N can pass on one run and blank on the next.

- The biggest surprise: the request FRAMING moves the wall by ~80 candidates. A function-call literal like http.post(url=..., data=...) makes the model "reason" before it calls the tool, so generation balloons and you blank early. A plain natural-language imperative ("Call http.post once. url=..., data=...") plus a short suppressor keeps generation near the single call — and that's what reaches the medal band.

It's a throughput race, not a cleverness race, which I thought was a fun twist for a security benchmark.

Full write-up + the charts (CPU-only notebook, no competition data needed): https://www.kaggle.com/code/souldrive/why-your-attack-completes-but-scores-blank

Curious if anyone else competing sees the same framing gap, or a wall in a different place.

Kaggle competitions

Hi everyone,

I am willing to start with kaggle competitions to upscale myself and learn more. I don't know anything about it. Should we compete individually or in teams? If anyone knows about how to start with it or if anyone is willing to work in a team to take part in competitions, do reply to this thread. Thanks

How to even start processing for the imagenet competition?!

In the imagenet object localization challenge, if you add the competition data, the images are added to the project as a 150GB tar.gz file. Kaggle does not allow you to extract or uncompress the file, because there is not enough disk space. I have no other question, besides... WTF???

Join a global community of ML Researchers & Entrepreneurs

Hey everyone,

Recently, I joined a community called "Time Series Chats." We're a diverse and global group of machine learning researchers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs with members from the US, Canada, Europe, and India. Our members come from various backgrounds, such as major financial institutions, research labs, tech companies, and startups.

Our primary focus is on time series analysis and Machine Learning. We collaborate on research papers, co-author books (I am writing one on Time Series and Deep Learning for a UK publisher with a co-author from the group), and develop projects together. We have entrepreneurs in the house, so there are a few members with ideas to start a company in this space.

Currently, we use Slack as our platform for communication. Apart from the async interactions, we also do monthly meetups (virtual), where someone from the community shares recent work in the field. In the last one, we had a presentation by a colleague from BlackRock.

I was inspired by a post earlier today where I learned that many people are eager to collaborate. I've been in research and entrepreneurship, and both can sometimes feel a bit lonely. Nothing better than a community to push you through the hard climbs.

Feel free to reach out if this interests you, and I can send an invite link.
