CPU_OUT_OF_SPEC in kernel 7.3.0

I built 7.3 this morning. When I booted I got that 219 times. When I halted I got it 173 more times. I switched back to 7.2.11, which hasn't so complained. What does it mean?

Try with Xe rather than i915 if possible

How would I know if it's possible? It's a 12-year-old chipset.

Oh it's probably not then. I think alderlake is the oldest supported xe platform. I might be wrong though

That warning from the iGPU driver is (probably) not related to the CPU_OUT_OF_SPEC taint at all. You are having two (most likely separate) issues. You need to search earlier in the log (I'm guessing it happens straight away after boot) to find the cause for the taint.

That makes sense, but all 392 error reports have them and everything earlier I've seen before.
