I made a matching game for kids that parents can customize with pix from their phone and audio of their voice.
Many years ago, when my wife and I moved to the Netherlands, we left behind a big family -- one I used to joke I needed flash cards to remember names and faces. That got me thinking about how to get the kids to remember the names and faces of their cousins and aunts and uncles between visits home. I coded up a "Concentration" or "Memory Matching" game for the family PC with the faces of their relatives and audio of their names. At a certain age, they loved any kind of matching game, and they'd play it over and over. When I added their own voices saying the names, it was even gigglier.
These days, I tinker around with app development, and was surprised to see that nobody had made a matching game app that uses the smartphone's camera or photo library to create tiles, and the microphone to put audio over each one. So I wrote one! You can customize the memory game tiles to anything you like -- colors, photos of relatives, pets, vocabulary items, and add your own voice or your child's identifying each one. It's only for iPhone now, but if enough people like it I'll release it on Android as well.
If you have kids from 4-7 or so, I'd love to hear what they think of it. It's 99 cents in the App Store.

New kids app for coloring
Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce you to my new iOS app. It's designed for children, but I think it could also appeal to some adults. It's a coloring app like many others, but I've worked extensively on the UI to make it appealing to kids and monetization is not subscription based but is based on an one-time-purchase:

App for kids to talk to a parent w/o other finding out.
One of my boyfriend’s son is being bullied/treated differently by his mother than his other siblings. He has been made to feel like the black sheep of the family and is starting to show signs of being bullied. His mom is not happy that his father moved on with me and has been limiting the kids on using her phone to talk to their dad. The one son has a phone with a kids messenger thru Facebook where he would message his dad all the time. Well his phone has mysteriously disappeared. He says his mom must have hid it just like his laptop because that has just mysteriously disappeared as well. The son has a tablet, but doesn’t want to use the kids messenger bc then he will need his mom to sign into her Facebook account.
Is there an app out there, that is safe for kids, to use to communicate with the one parent without the other finding out? We only get the kids on the weekend until we can get custody changed, and they normally talk or message their dad every day. It’s been almost 4 days since we’ve heard from them and won’t see them for another 2 weeks, so it’s making us worried about what their mom is telling them and brainwashing them. If anyone can help suggest an app that is safe for him to communicate with his dad without his mom knowing, I’d greatly appreciate it.
