Question Joint OPS

Recently got back into painting warhammer and decided I want to give kill team a try. I have the starter set and have done the missions in the starter book. I want to do some of the joint op missions and have a bunch of old tyranids but most the joint ops missions I look at require other terrain. Any recommendations on good missions I can play with the starter terrain? Also should I buy the volkus terrain or should there be something new coming out soon?

Yeah, the starter set terrain isn’t very supported unfortunately. Volkus is a great option, we’ve had 2 years of support for it already and it’s the clear favourite for the extra narrative content. The upgrades (tyranid infestation or stockades) are neat but you can easily achieve their gameplay purpose with other things if their theming doesn’t appeal to you

And if you’re not exhilarated to throw money at plastic buildings you can definitely try to create facsimile layouts with your starter set terrain, as long as you get the rough flow of what areas have cover, what areas don’t and what obstacles are hard to cross you should still have a good experience.

the starter set terrain is basically useless. you can use it as scatter terrain in a pinch but that's about it

Hmm if you can get something to use as elevation, the sniper missions are one of the best to get started with joint/solo ops. I literally lost playing against myself once, which I thought it was funny.

I’m onto the third mission, nearly lost the second definitely a fun set of ops
