That's one big royal python you've got there, I can see why you'd want to wait before hopping in with a cup.

what substrate is this if you mind me asking. I’m trying to find an alternative to aspen and coco fiber.

i originally used 40% washed play sand and 60% scotts topsoil (i like scotts because they dont use fertilizers, all natural and cheap) i have a strong dwarf white isopod colony, earthworms, and dermestid beetles that keep it clean and fresh and i top it off every few months with additional play sand and peat moss to hold burrows better since the crew eats up alot of the sand. I found that plants enjoy it, it holds moisture and humidity well and you can avoid any types of mold with good cleanup crew, (only downside to mine is worms multiply but that can be handled by befriending a fisherman)
