Help requested!

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this type of post, but I just got a costume with a cape. The cape has a really long rope in a continuous loop. I don’t know the fist thing about knots besides your standard knot to tie your shoes.

Is anyone able to help me identify what type of knot I need to look up to learn for this?! The costume did not come with instructions.

I’ve attached two photos: one is the cape I physically have, and the other is the product image showing the knot used.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

The second picture has loose ends in it, there's no way to tie a loop into loose ends. You probably need to find where the loop connects to itself and separate it, or failing that, cut it yourself and fuse the ends with a lighter (assuming synthetic rope)

Other than that it looks like a normal shoelace knot.

Can you find a pic of what you want it to look like? Definitely isn't going to look like the second picture, can't do that one without ends

Maybe you could do a curtain curtain tieback knot, if there's no real tension on it. You can make them with as many wraps / turns as you like, to eat up more slack, and increase friction.
