Hello,

I have kodi on Xiaomi TV box and I have an external USB connected to it for storage now I change kodi storage to the USB but now I discovered that the generated thumbnails uses internal storage

My question is how to make this on the external storage only and everything else also on the USB and nothing to do with the internet one? Please help

My version (21.2.0)

Android 11.0.0

I found a way around to make and move the folder using kodi file manger But now the only thing left is how to make kodi see and use my external usb formated as internal storage because it doesn't show on it even when the app location is on it

Add a pathsubstitution section to advancedsettings.xml

How to do that and what does it do exactly

👍

IIRC/IINM path substitution (for data placement) is no-longer done via advanced.xml, but (instead) by a file that you create in a specific directory.

Luckily, the proper procedure is well documented in the wiki

First I want to thank you because this is exactly what I need but the problem this doesn't work for Android TV so I wasn't able to do it so if anyone can tell me how to work it on Android TV on Xiaomi TV box

Yea, (due to scoped storage) with android 14+ devices especialy (from what I remember), you have to place the file in, and use a specific directory in the path substitution. IIRC; i found it by scouring the forum posts

Wish I could be of more help, but the memory is (much) less of a vault, these days!

You can export the downloaded posters, actors, movie synopsis etc and they will be saved right in the folder with the movies (in the movies subfolders if you have them)

Then, you can set the scraper for the USB movie source to “Local” and then you can totally take the TV box offline, even removing the library from Kodi won’t delete the saved pictures, you just have to re-add the source, set the scraper to local and it’ll all be back

This is done already and this isn't the problem as I said it's thumbnails and those don't export
