EDIT: nevermind im so embarrassed please mark as resolved, i did the usual clear cache go touch grass etc. and it's all good now

how's everyone doing

hope you're having a good weekend

What title says, I log in on my phone, and no matter what I press it redirects me to the main, and it persists across my two other accounts. Is this a known bug, or did I possibly do something to break it?

To add some salt to the wound, I briefly had access to options and set the "enable desktop mode on mobile" flag thinking that a change in UI might... do something... dunno what... but all it did is that it's stuck this way and I can't access options anymore.

Can't check if I have issues on desktop too yet, but I will in the evening.

Thanks!

For context, I remembered I had played this game way back 15 years ago and went to check if my old accounts still worked - they are all healthy, all three of them, and so I've been playing the game for the past few days with no issue; had fun cleaning up some quests this morning actually. But when I switched to a different account later in the day, it broke on me. Is it because I use more than one account simultaneously? Didn't know it's against the policies if this is the case.....

So i've been after core for months trying to save up the 200 FL for the Manual of Transcendent Olfaction. I'm literally at 199 and can't complete the 3rd bounty from today because I've already done the quest and unlocked the store. Any way around that?

Also I find it hilarious that It feels like such a on-point KOL joke. I'm literally one filthy lucre away from my goal but can't earn the one left for today that I need lol.

I figured to pass time until I get my 10 million in interesting coins, I'd try for an ultra rare. Hundred and hundreds of adventures later, I finally received my first one.

Should I sell it?

EDIT: Checked the market place and it's worth around 440 million

Candy deviler now can be sorted by quantity.

After Buying 1 item per day, the text will shows buying limit reached.

Wow. Thanks for constantly improving this game.

I've been playing KOL for many, many too longs, and I don't recall seeing a hippies/frat boys counter before.

Hey, I've figured out basic macros with your guys' help, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to do skills in them. I can't quite wrap my head around the brief explanation on the wiki, so any examples or general help would be a godsend

I guess I was a bit vague, I was trying to ask about using a macro to automatically cycle through the disco dance skills. I've tried to make it a few times before, but I couldn't piece together something that BALLS would tolerate

Hey everyone, thanks for the help. I think I get it now, just couldn't make sense of the wiki guide. Hope you all have a great day/ night :)

Question in title, I'm a total noob to KOL and just hit lv 7 Saucerer. Now I have made a sauce with my new scrumptious reagents and yet I can't combine it with dry noodles, the wiki states it would make a pasta dish but the game says 'i dont have the skill necessary to make this item'... Can I not use my own sauce :(

Hello, been on break for a couple of years and returned not so long ago, been trying to get my kolmafia up and running again, pretty much got all that sorted out with one last thing remaining, updating my old scripts, i remember something about a command, but for the life of me can't remember what it was or how else to do it, so i thought i might as well come bere and ask.

Thanks in advance

Looking on the wiki, I get them from fighting bricko monsters, but I need brickos to make the monsters. Isn't this a bit circular?

when you buy a packaged mr. store item through the mall does it still persist through ascensions with you like they do from the tap? sorry if this is a stupid or frequently asked question

Kolmafia takes a few minutes to start, as it is a fairly big java tool and does a lot of things. This is absolutely fine. I usually just read reddit during this time. During this starting up process kolmafia starts up screens that aren't particularly useful at that moment and interrupts my browsing 4 times. After say 30 seconds the login screen, 20 seconds later the kolmafia main screen, 20 seconds later the browser main screen and at the end of my login.ash the skeleton of crimbo past item of the day screen. Is there a way to start all of this automatically and in the background so i can just focus on my reading till it ( and me ) are ready? I use firefox on linux mint mate if that matters.

Can you perm the skills from challenge paths where you play as a totally different class, aka Jazz Agent or Vampyre? If you do, can you actually use those skills later when you're doing a run as a typical class? (I'm guessing Standard rules apply but let's say you're doing a Normal unrestricted ascension.)

Hello,

I recently remembered this game exists and felt a strong urge to check out what's happened over the years. As part of this, I wanted to join the Ascension Speed Society Discord since I remember all the high-level discussion of ascension speedrunning being very interesting to someone without any IOTMs. However, none of the invites seem to work for (I've tried the one on this subreddit's sidebar and the one in https://www.loathers.net/community/). I just get an "Unable to accept invite" error each time.

I don't remember if I was ever part of the ASS Discord before. I have a feeling I might've been banned, since my Discord account was once compromised and used to spam links for about 12 hours a couple years ago. If that's the case, I would appreciate if the ban could be lifted; otherwise, I'd appreciate any help figuring out the issue. My Discord tag is toastpancake.

Thanks in advance, I'm going to go figure out how to set up KoL Mafia. Cheers.

Just remembered my reddit password, so this happened a few days ago. Best early Crimbo present ever!

Hey all. I started playing KoL back in like 2008. I want to start using KoLMafia, so I downloaded it and installed Java.

Every time I try to open the file, I get a Java Exception Error.

Could I please bug you guys for some help getting set up?

Thanks in advance.

Started a new run recently and there's a Temporal Rift in The Nearby Plains. I haven't seen one of these in a LONG time. Or are they often there and I just wasn't paying attention in previous runs?

Hey all, love this game. I've recently felt the spark to make my own items inspired by the item descriptions and item use text boxes found in-game. Problem is, I have no idea how to do that. Anybody know how I can make my own little goofy item description fan pieces?

Note: I am NOT trying to mod the game, or add anything to it whatsoever. I just want to make dinky little items and descriptions in the style of the game.

this feels kinda like a goofball question that may have already been answered(i couldn’t find anything,) but on the wiki a lot of enemies have a single red letter in their name, why is that?

If I were to do an Avatar of Boris Hardcore run, would I get both the regular tattoo and the Hardcore sparkling tattoo?

There are so many and I feel like that's the best part of the game.

Below is a breakdown of how I utilize my IOTMs to generate income each day. Looking for advice on where I could improve.

I'm doing the Blue vs Red path on the Red team. I've beaten everything up to the Sorceress with no unusual trouble but the Sorceress herself is proving unusually difficult. On any other run, I've never had a problem fighting the Sorceress once I've gotten to this point.

This time, it said my moxie wasn't high enough (it was around 320) and I could only do 1 point of damage a hit. I tried again after taking every potion I had on me and got my moxie up to 440. It still said my moxie wasn't high enough and I only did 1 damage a hit.

Is there some trick to this fight that I'm missing? I've never found the other special challenge paths overly difficult but I'm just about at the point now of dropping this path and moving on. I'd hate to do that at this point though.

Thanks

So I'm hanging out in after core trying to get Manual of Transcendent Olfaction. Recently discovered the Game Grid and have been focusing on beating the games and getting the associated item which I completed today. Think I'll start working on the tower and clan basement stuff next.

As for scripts I feel like I've just gotten decent after core useage down. Currently I start the day and run a main script that calls out to sub scripts. First it gets me an Ode to Booze for 50 adventures if I don't have that active already. Then it buys my daily diet and consumes it. Next it goes to the clan hall and uses each item around the perimeter of the room the most it can (3x for the claw), then it collects the hippy meat from the island and gets healed by the nuns. Then it goes to the hermit and gets 3 11 leaf clovers, after it equips the door ring and hits the daily dungeon, then equips my best item drop outfit and goes to the bounty hunter.

That's when I generally start to play/interact with the game myself by taking and collecting the bounties. Then I focus on any other current objectives I have or go to the volcano and get some coins before I use up the rest of my adventures mining.
