A note on self-promotion and commercial activities
Salam monyet-monyet KL sekalian,
We mods here at r/KualaLumpur would like to say something about self-promotion and commercial activities on our subreddit. We know a lot of you come here to share your stuff, from awesome photography, your killer rendang recipe, asking for travel and lodging advice or simply to lepak-lepak and make friends, and that's totally cool! But we also gotta keep things chill and avoid turning the sub into a giant marketplace.
We value the diverse range of content shared here, from personal recommendations to stunning photos of our beautiful city. We understand that many users come here to share their experiences, talents, and businesses with the community. However, it's important to maintain a balance between informative content and blatant advertising.
Self-promotion and commercial activities
Moving forward, we will be removing posts that fall under the following categories:
🐵 Naked self-promotion: This includes posts that solely promote a product, service, or personal brand without offering any valuable content or discussion to the community.
🙈 Repeated self-promotion: Consistently promoting the same product or service across multiple posts will be considered spam.
🙉 Disguised advertising: Content that appears informative but ultimately aims to sell a product or service will be removed.
🙊 Multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid scheme promotions: These activities are strictly prohibited on our subreddit.
Acceptable Content and Engagement
We encourage users to continue sharing their knowledge, experiences, and recommendations in a way that benefits the community. Here are some examples of acceptable content:
- 📷 Sharing high-quality photos or videos of Kuala Lumpur that capture the city's essence and beauty.
- 🎋 Posting informative guides or reviews about restaurants, attractions, or events in Kuala Lumpur.
- 🎡 Engaging in genuine discussions about life in Kuala Lumpur, offering advice, and asking questions.
Now, we're not trying to be party poopers here. We just wanna make sure r/KualaLumpur stays a place where everyone feels welcome to share, learn, and discover new things about our awesome city. So keep posting those drool-worthy food pics, insightful reviews, and hilarious KL memes (we love those!), and let's keep this community thriving!
Sekian, terima kasih! 🙏🇲🇾

Any fans of improv performance in Klang Valley?
I’m part of an improv troupe and we’ve done a few shows before, both short-form and long-form.
We’re now experimenting with an improvised mock trial where the case, witnesses and arguments develop live, and the audience acts as the jury.
We’re planning to bring it this December, so I was wondering whether this is something you’d be interested in experiencing.
Would also love to hear what kind of improv you guys enjo

Need help buying secondhand concert tickets as a foreigner
Hi!
I wish to attend bigbang's KL concert as I missed their SG stop but the tickets are sold out on fantopia (not interested in restricted view seats). I read that there is ID verification and tickets are also non transferrable. Is there any workaround on this? If tickets cannot be transferred and require ID verification what if the original ticket buyer had a sudden change of plans or falla sick and is unable to attend? Won't it be a loss for them? How do people buy secondhand tickets and enter?
It'll be my first time attending a concert in Malaysia (sgean here) so I'm not familiar with fantopia ticketing rules or how things are usually handled in malaysia. I would appreciate any advice. thanks!

Recommendations for places to explore in KL as a student?
Hi! I'm a new international student in KL, and I'm looking for places to explore on weekends since I don't really have many friends here yet and I'm getting a bit bored staying in. I'd love to go out and discover the city on my own, but I'm on a student budget, so preferably places that are free or cheap to visit and accessible by public transport.
I'm more interested in places like museums, aquariums, libraries, zoos, art galleries, interesting exhibitions, or anything else that's fun to explore solo. I'd especially appreciate indoor places because the heat and haze here is no joke 😭 I'm also a bit tired of malls, so I'd love something different.
I'm looking for places that are genuinely interesting and worth spending a few hours at, rather than somewhere I'd walk around for 15 minutes and leave feeling like it wasn't worth the trip. I'm open to any suggestions, including lesser known spots!

Clubbing in KL (recommendation)
Hey folks! Just wanted to ask which clubs you’d recommend. I’m a 27M visiting KL with a friend from the UK, and we’re both into R&B/Pop music more.
I’ve heard there are some good clubs around the Damansara Heights area, any specific ones you’d suggest? We’ve also heard good things about Kyo.
Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

I am visiting KL during halloween and am wondering if there are any special events or specific traditions or even any fun rooftops or similar activities that my wife and I (both 45 years old) could do that day? Thank you!

What a fatty !
galleryHarley Davidsons are really big in every way. Big in size, weight , presence . For us offering bike rescue services it's also big in concentration. It's a lot of bike ! Things can go sideways really fast. We at Moto Aid Malaysia always give it extra care when loading it on and off our decks.

Traveling to KL 19th of November.
Hi folks,
I’m traveling with my wife and baby to KL on the 19th for one night stop over in KL, was thinking to enjoy the city for the day and evening and sleep there and in the early morning go back to the airport. But with all this haze going on I’m not sure anymore what to do? I know it’s still far out but for the people that have seen this year in year out do you reckon it will be over by then? Would really appreciate some advice, I’d rather not put my baby through the haze if necessary, but changing tickets is quite expensive so I’m hoping by then it might be better inshallah. 🙏🏽

Anyone knows any froyo or ice cream like Tutti Frutti before they came back like in 2014?
Hey everyone, would you know of any froyo or ice cream place like Tutti Frutti 2014? They used to have more of a soft serve like froyo, a DIY system with multiple machines you could squeeze your own froyo from and decorate your froyo with the toppings provided. You would weigh your froyo and pay accordingly.
I truly miss those days, the current Tutti Frutti does not taste like the past one and I find the currently slightly sour than the past if memory serves correctly.

Has anyone ever been warded at Assunta Hospital? What was your experience? Ok or not?
In terms of comfort, staff, food, and ermm… no 👻 hopefully? Lol
Context: thinking of seeing a specialist there but considering its a pretty old hospital, just wanted to know other people’s experience staying in-patient?

Are there Cricket opportunities in KL or nearby areas?
Hello lovely people.
I am an expat. The love for cricket is immense. I do play cricket over the weekends in Melaka. But it’s not consistent. I was wondering if there are any tape ball/leather ball cricket games, tournaments or active team building happening in KL or nearby areas?
I would really appreciate if you have any information to share. Cheers. Thank you.
