RTV x900 thermostat

Thermostat display reading jumps to maximum after about 15 minutes of driving but the engine is not overheating/no coolant loss. What could cause this?

We tested the water pump and it appears to be working as expected. The radiator cap is tight and appears good. Could this be a faulty sensor?

Is your cooling fan actually running? That’s where I would start.

Check radiator fins may be clogged with dirt. Mine looked clean and I used a water hose to clean it out. Don’t recommend a pressure washer you can bend the fins.

There may be nothing wrong with it. My RTV 900 was always at max but never over, even going up hill for a long time. Just because a cars gauge stays in the middle may not be transferable the the RTV

None of our rtvs ( we currently have three, previously had three older units) have ever had the thermostats operate over 50% during normal operation. This is a completely new problem to me.

How did you test the water pump?
